There's a lot of "tabloidism" out there, so I'll try to sum up the facts and update first post as more come in. A lot of it is bound to change.
Let's try to analyse the data. Try not to hijack the thread with "fanboyism", let's keep it civil.

This is not fact, but speculation: The numbers can support that the people who have seen more movies tend to like it less. But it could also suggest that the movie is a case of "challenging the establishment" ("thinking/presenting outside the box"). Younger audience tend to more easily adapt to "new ways of thinking", since they don't have 30 years of habits. Both theories could be interesting for media students to look into.
I have a hard time understanding how journalists can sum it up as if the critics "hate the movie" or that it was "universally panned". There is no data to support this claim.
So far it seems as if the critics-average found it mediocre and the audience, so far, gives it a 5-8 rating (mediocre to good), with a solid group giving it 10. But as mentioned, the data here is bound to change when more people has seen it and submitted data.
Any audience/critic-facts I should add? Fire away!

- A high percentage of the audience-data suggests they found it ok or better.
- It is the highest rated Superman-movie at IMDB
- It is well below the highets rated superheromovies at IMDB, but far above the worst movies
- There is a clear mis-match between critics verdict and the audience (so far)
- There is no Metacritic-data to support that most critics panned the movie. Most critics found it mediocre.
- The younger audience rates it higher.
