I don't think most people give two airborne copulations about Superman snapping Zod's neck in the DCCU. It's the general (no pun) destruction ;) that has them in an uproar, and the fact that despite any good he's done, people are afraid of who, if anyone can tell him "no".

Yeah but 'most people' are mostly casuals who don't understand the characters anyway, they just spit out whatever comes to their minds, the obvious things, on places like YT, IMDb or Fb.

It's different with every movie when it comes to destruction... In Pacific Rim humanity is on the brink of extinction (and it's a B-movie anyway), in Transformers nobody cares and in Avengers plenty of people mentioned it, but unlike Avengers, MoS was always presented as (hyper)realistic portrayal of Superman... and then you have whole blocks destroyed within minutes (somewhat understandable with super sayans in the sky) followed by problems that are far more concerning than the whole destruction angle:

a) Supes + Lois kissing like nervous highschoolers in the midst of apocalypse

b) five people who are apparently more valuable to us than any of the unknown collaterals

c) immediate and bizzare cut to restored office space with everybody smiling and exchanging tickets for the game... what?

Just awkward. I'm glad they dumped Goyer... or upgraded his ideas/draft with Terrio's.

Batman v Superman is clearly concerned about all of this, in detail, and I applaud that.

I wasn't referring to that. I meant "inside" the DCCU literally. I don't think the populous of that Earth cares so much about Superman killing Zod.

People always bring up the destruction 'he' caused – but thinking about it, how much destruction did the Superman/Zod fight actually cause?
Pretty much all the devastation was cause by Zod's world engine – and Superman had to fly to the other side of the world to destroy it in order to save billions of lives!
People laud Avengers - yet in that final battle they cause as much destruction as Superman does – entire buildings being destroyed, and I don't see much concern from Iron Man, Thor or Hulk as to the safety of civilians with huge chunks of rubble and buildings falling all over the place... sure they show Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow fighting on the ground protecting the public – but Superman didn't have the luxury of numerous team mates to do that for him whilst fighting a far more serious foe.

It's Chinatown, Jake. :cwink:

They should be glad? That's what I think.

Glad someone stopped a super powered one man genocidal murder machine that no prison on Earth could hold? Yes... That's just crazy. :sly:

well the fight starts out on a roof but those who saw the extended version said it was inside a building and Supes busts through a wall.
I wonder if maybe Bats has some of that Krypton atmosphere stuff rigged up in the building and he lures him into it?

Yeah I was thinking that too. Kinda like Superman Returns...

He was floating in the air before that shot.

Yeah but why would he run like a human at a man trying to "make him bleed". He never did in MOS.

Or maybe he's holding part of his powers back, because he knows he's fighting a human being?

And this could be a good reason too. Very Superman like.

lol just as much damage happened in Avengers and there were far more of them fighting a foe in one location. Supes had to stop Zod and co all the way around the world. Immediately after the destruction the Avengers were making jokes and eating Shwarma. And no one complained.

It seems to me there's a huge double standard being applied here.

Glad to know I am not alone in this. I've read some posts that people say oh wow BatFleck sounds amazing, and its sounds like Ben, but with a voice changer. Well..... I just don't think it sounds like Affleck, but I could be wrong. But Snyder has done such a great job keeping this movie from leaks and etc, I think he is toying with us all to unveil major surprises and shocks that no one see's coming.

It is Ben...

As far as shocks not seen coming, I agree. But Ben says this to Henry. Why wouldn't he? It is pure dialogue perfection before a fight. I think people are overthinking this.

Exactly!!! Also the fact that people keep complaining that Batman couldn't possibly fight Superman, even with his armoured suit...

...yet somehow Iron Man against the Hulk is fine!

The only way Bats and Supes fighting is justified for me is if Supes is weakened somehow. If this isn't addressed and the armor really is the only variable, then I'll be shocked and sad. But I have a feeling I shouldn't be worrying.

Well, you're definitely wrong here.
Again, I said it is speculation, I still feel it is not what it all seems. However, I would like your proof that I am "wrong". If you have factual proof, then please feel free to present it...... :woot:

Can't link it because of the rules, but Bats and Supes are throwing down in the IMAX exclusive clip.

A favorite author of mine somewhat addressed this. See my sig, old-timer.

Any speculation or leaks concerning the movie's supervillain? I haven't even been keeping up with its development, much less been interested, until the newest teaser.

By all indications. It looks like the antagonists will be Batman and Lex. There has been a lot of rumours that Doomsday is in, but it makes no sense.

So people are speculating that you can see Robin's suit hanging behind Ben Affleck/Bruce Wayne in the trailer...

I hope it means Robin is dead. Easily gives a great reason as to why Batman retires. He sees a lot of **** daily, but can't handle someone who was like a son to him, die because of something he couldn't do (aka Kill the Joker or anyone involved with his death).

I thought Batman has not been retired, I though he has always been active, and that "tired and weary" just means a man that has been through and seen his fair share of ****.

I've looked at it , lightened it up, zoomed in and I don't see it. Maybe if I'd seen it in IMAX I might have been able to say definitely. But I've not been able to see it.

Top left corner. There is definitely a suit behind Wayne. You can clearly make out the gloves and cape. Whether or not it's Robin's remains to be seen.

It's TDK Bale trilogy batsuit. He's the same batman, back from Paris, reclaimed Wayne Manor, out of retirement to thank Superman for saving his ass from the bomb at the end of Rises, but when Superman is caught in the act with Hathaway Catwoman, the fight begins. Batman V Superman :sly:
