I don't think most people give two airborne copulations about Superman snapping Zod's neck in the DCCU. It's the general (no pun) destruction that has them in an uproar, and the fact that despite any good he's done, people are afraid of who, if anyone can tell him "no".
Yeah but 'most people' are mostly casuals who don't understand the characters anyway, they just spit out whatever comes to their minds, the obvious things, on places like YT, IMDb or Fb.
It's different with every movie when it comes to destruction... In
Pacific Rim humanity is on the brink of extinction (and it's a B-movie anyway), in
Transformers nobody cares and in
Avengers plenty of people mentioned it, but unlike
Avengers, MoS was always presented as (hyper)realistic portrayal of Superman... and then you have whole blocks destroyed within minutes (somewhat understandable with super sayans in the sky) followed by problems that are far more concerning than the whole destruction angle:
a) Supes + Lois kissing like nervous highschoolers in the midst of apocalypse
b) five people who are apparently more valuable to us than any of the unknown collaterals
c) immediate and bizzare cut to restored office space with everybody smiling and exchanging tickets for the game... what?
Just awkward. I'm glad they dumped
Goyer... or upgraded his ideas/draft with
Terrio's.
Batman v Superman is clearly concerned about all of this, in detail, and I applaud that.
