BvS The BvS Rumor/Speculation Discussion Thread! - Part 4

He pretty much has to be someone's son...

In this film's version of Lex, the character inherits a company/venture capital is mainly what I think it amounts to. He still uses that to take his own corporation into the stratosphere on his own, it would seem. Perhaps Lex has issues to work out from his relationship with his father (i.e., is messed up from it) and that will appear thematically.

I'm now interested in researching the comics in which Lex Luthor has created versions of Doomsday via a cloning process. Anyone know which of those comic books might serve as inspiration for the Doomsday in BvS? I see also that Darkseid has created an army of Doomsday clones as well (which were unleashed on Themyscira). But at least for now I'm more interested in source material for Lex's work in creating Doomsday clones. If anyone knows which issues those are will appreciate if you can share. Thanks.

Alrighty - since the latest trailer has been released I've been going full fanboy with speculations haha:

There's a red herring and it's in the title: Batman v Superman. I think 'Dawn of Justice' is going to be the what the movie predominantly focuses on. The marketing up until this point has purposely been focused on the Clark and Bruce conflict, which could be over within the first hour to get to the meat and bones of the movie which is 'Dawn of Justice'. They've revealed Doomsday - and they're going to surprise us with Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg (and possibly Callan Mulvey as Hal Jordan??) joining the big fight as the MAJOR twist/suprise.

This potentially just 'leaked':

If this is legit I'm not sure why they would have an Aquaman figure if he's just meant to have a cameo at the this point.

I know it all sounds ridiculous (I'm realising this as I type hahaha) - but this is a speculation thread after all!

Seems like Doomsday will likely evolve to the final form of Doomsday. The bone structure are all there to grow.

haha I just saw this in the other thread

This is as legit as they come. It comes straight from CCXP in Brazil.

I wonder if he appears to help fight Doomsday or just in a cameo. It wouldn't make much sense if he came out of the blue to help 3 random people he never knew defeat a monstrous beast created by some random madman,

Well the only things that Snyder has said about Aquaman is that:

1. His Trident is strong enough to cut through Superman's skin

2. His appearance in BvS will somewhat be an elusive one, where he's only there to show that he "exists" within this universe.

Great catches. I think at least one fight has to be in a city environment that is NOT burning and on fire. I really wonder how this is going to play out and how many actual confrontations they will have. At first I thought a minimum of two... Now I am wondering if they clash at least three times before they join together.

really?? I thought this whole thing was one fight.

I still think 2.

I think we have to have one fight where Bruce is in the standard suit, and one where there is the armor used.

Still... The vibe that the trailer gave was one of Bruce having given himself a monumental task. "Stay down... If I had wanted you dead ect.". It seems they are playing up how actually difficult this would be. So... I don't know, I could see them stretching this out to three fights. Plus let's add the Knighmare stuff in there... Will we also see a clash there?

Right now, so many are making it out like the entirety of the movie has been revealed, but little has actually been revealed. Look at that simple question: How many times do Bats and Supes throw down? Even that is up in the air given what we have been shown.

Yeah people are too quick to knock on something and not think things through. Thats fandom for ya.

I imagine the first encounter is a Superman/Batmobile chase. There's no fight because unprepared Batman isn't stupid enough to pick one then and there. (So...Batman - 0, Superman - 1, by default). I imagine Supes just tells Bats to pack it in and leaves, or Bats escapes or something.

And then there's the armored fight where Batman wins (Superman 1, Batman 1). I imagine the only reason Supes is even there is because Lex blackmailed him (via capturing Lois) into meeting Batman for a fight (where Lex is hoping that Batman will kill Superman with the kryptonite he stole from Lexcorp). Supes isn't looking to kill Batman, and he could have ended it any time if he really wanted to by doing so, but eventually the kryptonite takes effect ("now you know what it's like to be a man").

So I hear Zodsday may not be the only big twist and that there will be one involving a war between Earth and Darkseid. Fan speculation, of course.

What in this movie? Hell no.
