The Cape

Really, people think this is bad? I watched the clips for the other NBC shows, and it doesn't look nearly as bad as, "The Event." The clip for Undercovers also was pretty boring, but I have a thing about not likeing Abrams so...

Shut your face! Undercovers looks awesome!

I'll at least check out The Cape. The thing I admire about The Cape is that it's not really trying to have it both ways. Heroes wanted to be a comic book without really going full throttle with traditional comic book tropes. With the exception of maybe Hiro or Monica, no one really wanted to be a "Hero" in any real sense of the word, let alone approaching things as if they were a traditional "superhero". At least with the Cape it's like, you've got an actually villain, someone in a mask and has a villian alter ego, and you've got an actual costumed crimefighter, and you're seeing how he becomes capable of being a crimefighter.

This sounds as good as Nightman and we all know how good that show was...

:o

Personally, if this show is trying to have a more realistic approach to superhero (evident by their no-superpower protagnoist), why is he having a cape in his costume aside from wanting to bring his son's favorite comic book superhero to life? Cape may look cool in the comic books, but in real life it could really hinder the movement of a would-be superhero.

Hence the idea of these magicians showing him how to use it as a weapon. Certain things we might consider impractical can always be forgiven under the right circumstances. They spent the necessary time rationalizing Batman's cape in the Nolan films.

I hope NBC saw a different pilot than what clips I just saw or I have a hard time believing they have good judgment.

This would have been good cheesy fun along side NIGHTMAN in the 90s.

This was the show I was trying to remember after I saw the pic of "The Cape"

Woa just checked out the Promo and wow did that look beyond cheesy. They dropped Heroes and picked this up???

To help myself fall asleep when I came home from a long day at high schol I would watch Alias. And Undercover looks like a wonderful combo of the boring parts of alias with the boring parts of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. With a cast that just doesn't do anything. At least Alias had Greg Greenberg and Bradley Cooper to keep me entertained between JA putting me to sleep.

The Cape looks fun to me. Nice to see a costumed hero on tv again. And while it's silly I'll fully embrace it.

And it has Keith David. So The Cape already had all the cards with that one.

Course, I know when to say I lost. Undercover will most likely get a good 4 to 5 seasons, while, The Cape, will most likely get canceled mid way through the season.

When I heard the description I thought it felt very "Nightman-esque." Now that I saw the preview though I KNOW it feels very "Nightman-esque." Heroes was a step in the right direction, even if it fell apart after the first season. This just seems like several jumps back.

Well the trailer looks OK, I'll check it out but I don't see it going more than one season... But who knows? I've been wrong before. :csad:

It looks alright, the CGI on the cape is a little funky though.

Wait... why does he have to give up his soul, exactly?
That's some unnecessary voodoo stuff, man. I'm not down with that.

How can a non-powered human fight crime in that costume? Anyone think he looks like Marvel's Cloak?

Heroes took a step in the right direction then quickly became disastrously aimless. It was too ambitious without having a real plan. We can blame the writers' strike on Season Two's failure, but plenty of shows rebounded from that.Be even before the strike cut season two short, it had already lost sight of what it was supposed to be.

Looks like the Shroud, only with a little of the Shadow thrown in.

Plus...a kid unable to recognize his own father's voice and face from the nose down? Meh.

Looks to be fun, maybe.

This looks to be a "so-so" kinda of series, although I'll be watching it.

Anything is better than Heroes anyways.

Voodoo is cool yo :awesome:. It causes whacky hijinks! As seen in horror movies...wait...

And whoever said about the kid not figuring out that is his dad is right.

Watched the trailer.

Yeah... Not going to bother. Looks pretty damn bad.

Like what I saw in the trailer... looks cliche as hell but imma check out the piolot sofar the teailer has sold me...... but not looking like it will be as good as Heroes... good or bad

I'm just happy to finally see a superhero on tv that wears a costume. I'm tired of this plain clothes crap

It's funny how in Heroes they have characters with real superpowers, but none of them wear costumes. In The Cape, the lone protagonist has no powers, yet he's wearing one.

I think this will be lucky to make it to 5 episodes.

NBC is always late when it comes to cancellation though. Heroes was given two more seasons than what it deserved.
