The Cape

I like it so far, yes the pace is fast, but we still have an hour and 15 mins left so it might slow down

I think people are just upset because this is a throwback to the more fantasy-oriented superhero movies/shows of the `90s. Nowadays, people want the serious, realistic, Nolan-esque stuff.

I remember people complaining about Batman: The Brave and the Bold being an adaptation of the campy `50-`60s comics and, yet, it turned out to be a popular show when folks gave it a chance.

That's how fanboys are.

I remember some of the commentary Bruce Timm did for the first episode of Batman: TAS, and they said their goal wasn't for it to be realistic, but it had to be convincing. Otherwise you get nuked fridges.

So far, "The Cape" has not shown anything remotely original, and the pacing is absurdly fast. I think Summer went from being a total stranger to the Cape's Oracle in 5 minutes.

Oh brother. Now the Mentor is dying. Yep, Batman influence.

Oh wait, okay, that was definitely better than I thought it'd go.

"Dammit, I wasted that speech!"

:lmao:

Keith David is definitely the scene stealer of this show.

There is going to be a twist with the mystery chick. Like she is that evil dudes daughter or something. There is always a twist

Its pretty good so far. It's a fun show.

I find it ironic that people are complaining that its unrealistic, yet these same people laud many Marvel and DC Films which are equally unrealistic.

his first appearance as the cape was pretty lame, kinda just shows up. When he stands up in front of his kid, he looked pretty cool. Still think he became the cape way to early, shouldve put on the suit at the end of the first part. Hes already fought like 4 people within the first hour.

The main actor has terrible quip delivery.

The main actor is where this show is going to sink. You can have terrible material, but a great lead can elevate to something entertaining. This guy is tremendously bland.

Eh. Some how Smallville lasted for 10 seasons and Tom Welling is probably the most bland lead actor on TV right now.

Well, it's not like show's with bland leads haven't been able to go on with a strong supporting crew, and the supporting cast is certainly not that bad at all. See Smallville.

Ah the typical he's not real ***** I'm the man. Until mommy sees him near the end :o

He really needs a mask. The character even has a mask in the comic and yet they leave it out on the actual costume. They can only come up with so many excuses as to why people won't see his face. Other than that though this show is somewhat enjoyable.

And now the nemesis already knows? MAJOR pacing problems with this show. I love a show that can cut to the point with it's plotlines. But in the same damn episode?

He has one in various promo stills, so he'll likely be getting one soon.

Exactly. If stuff like Smallville and Chuck can last, this show has a chance as well.

And get the man a mask!

ok so I tried to give this a chance...but he falls out the window and InfoSkank is right there?

I'm not going to hold that against it. EVERY show/movie does the miracle save at the last minute.

There's far bigger issues with this show than that old Hollywood cliche.

He keeps getting his ass kicked big time, lol he has nothing... so much for a hero

it was just the straw for me...I like the cheesy villains and the cliche wife and kid, but that was it for me

**** this....Im watching Top Gear

OK how did Cain get to the street that fast after Cape dropped out the window?

Wait which one knows who he is ? I missed that part

We'll have to agree to disagree on the supporting cast on this show, which I think is pretty abysmal(except for Keith David). Smallville has the benefit of airing on the CW with possibly the most well-known superhero mythology in history to support it, along with really great supporting actors like John Schnieder, Annette O'Toole, Michael Rosenbaum and John Glover. The Cape has none of these.
