Ashley Olsen and Zendaya (though spiderman might preclude her..) would also both be good, imo.

No on Johnson. Not a fan of Hudgens either. Kravitz and Armas are great picks but after the whole Black Ariel backlash, I’m hesitant on dream-casting non-white actresses for the role (I know she’s been played by non-white actresses before but don’t expect the trolls to remember that). I really don’t want any controversy, especially the inevitable death threats these actresses may receive. We’re just not ready yet for race-changing major characters. Maybe when the country’s more diverse, and according to studies, it will happen, why else are white supremacists afraid these days? But for now, I guess I’m picking Comer.

There’s already some precedent for Catwoman being portrayed in racially ambiguous ways though (and no I’m not talking about Halle Berry). She’s drawn as black in Year One, for example.

Side note, no to Debicki. She looks eight feet tall.

Yvonny Strahovski - She's 37, very good actress, ridiculously gorgeous, played action roles before, can do blonde or dark hair well (I prefer dark hair Selena which is why I bring it up) and we already know she looks good AF in the catsuit.

Because she has a buzz cut? Her skin color is no more darker than any of the other white characters. Not a single comic in that era who continued the Y1 Selina depicted her as black. Miller has written/drawn her several times and never portrayed her as black in any of her iterations. The animated Y1 adaptation is clearly a white woman and is even voiced by one.

I never understood how this was so easily misconstrued. Same applies for Two-Face and Lex in the Timmverse.

Now I’m certainly not opposed to racebending her, but it absolutely would be a revision with no real lasting precedent in the books.

She did look kinda brown skinned to me

Yeah, no to Debicki, waaaay too tall for a sneaky cat thief and I'd also prefer to not have this Batman look less physically imposing than Catwoman. Kinda throws the visual dynamic off a bit.

I’m aware of the same single panel everyone loves to reference. A panel that is doused in a blaring red ambient light. Everyone’s skin color is “off” in that entire sequence.

How about looking at literally every other scene featuring Selina? If Selina had her conventionally longer hairstyles I bet this wouldn’t even be a conversation.

She’s tan at best. Go through the book again, her skin doesn’t stick out any more than the characters she’s around. I’ve already listed the many other reasons why it doesn’t make sense to just presume her race was changed in one book only, of the most influential Batman story of that time.

I don’t wish to belabor the point, didn’t meant to drag the topic.

Yeah, we’re better off moving on from this. Sorry I brought it up. Twitter and 4chan can kiss my ass.

Elizabeth Olsen? I'm just guessing you didn't fancast the second Olsen twin specifically.

She's a perfect candidate on paper. It's just a question of her desire to do it.

Elizabeth Olsen would be great. In an alternate universe I would be all over that idea.

Olsen doesn't feel like the right fit to me, but I do like her a lot. So, no complaints here.

Re: Comer, I can't really speak to what she's capable of, as I'm almost entirely unfamiliar w/ her repertoire. But she does have a nice look, and the xenophile in me definitely appreciates her knack for accents and languages.

I mean, how impressive is this??

I think Comer's a really good actress! Only thing I'm not so sure about is how...nimble / agile / graceful she is? She didn't look ultra coordinated in some of the more physical scenes in K.E., imo. And I feel like that's such a big part of catwoman, having that lithe, dancer-like physicality? I really do like her but that's my one hesitation for this specific role. Maybe wouldn't be that big a deal if they got a really good stuntwoman to do all the physical parts anyway.

But yeah, I feel like I'd still lean a little more towards Sonoya, Vanessa, Zoe, Ana, etc. because they strike me as being just a little more feline / fluid. Just my two cents. I do like her though in general!

If Josh Brolin can be both Thanos and Cable... why would Olsen being in the MCU prevent her from hypothetically playing Catwoman?
