she has such a great body. Too bad it'll be all covered up in Thanagarian armor. But kudos. Hopefully the show will last several seasons. And if the DCU movies decide to bypass John Stewart, there's no excuse not to include him eventually on this show and have he and Hawkgirl become a couple, since the studio is clearly willing to have another Flash for its movies.

Err forget John Stewart. Hawkman should show up. Hawkman/Hawkgirl.

    Fly Girl!

She seems so right, she's the reason i'll be watching this team.

Yeah with the Resurrection theme and Time/Multiverse Jumping, i'd really like to see her true counterpart Hawkman show up, maybe someone she pursues throughout multiple lives/universes, but always destined to lose him once she finds him and universe jumps again.
It's actually a pretty tragic, and one of the greatest love stories in DC's pantheon.

I would love that, if Carter Hall were to show up.

Eh, I'd rather they focus on making Hawkgirl a worthwhile character, rather than immediately shunting her off into "distaff love interest" territory.

That may have been the comic interpretation, or the shallow interpretation you brought to it here, but no one even remotely suggested that, but you.
She'd be the lead, and focus, not him. If anything if he appeared at all, he'd be the supposed "distaff love interest"

If and how much they delve into to her reincarnated past, and who she knew or remembers, would be at the service of developing her character and story.

Who said anything about "immediately"? Give it until maybe the second or third season. Should give her plenty of time to develop her character.

Indeed. That's exactly what happened in the JLU show, and it was done quite well. No reason it couldn't happen here too.

I am really hoping this is just an effort to get contracts on paper to fend off the WB execs and their rapacious embargoes. There is no way they have a good enough idea about the actress' performance ( and the writing ) to judge the character spin-off worthy.

Why do they always seem to have Hawkgirl without Hawkman? It's like they need to have female superhero (ie-Justice League cartoon) and figure they can take her. But, Hawkman and her are a team. It could have brought an interesting dynamic to the show to have a married superhero couple on the team.

Probably because she doesn't need Hawkman to stand on her own? He always ends up playing into her stories anyways.

Not to mention they said that Hawkman is going to show up.

Hawkgirl gets used often without Hawkman because, when Hawkman *is* used, it inevitably becomes about Hawkman, with Hawkgirl as the sidekick. I'd really prefer they hold off on using Hawkman, or never use him at all in any lasting manner.

While you might be right. I think it just comes down to lazy writing. You can do a lot with them both.

The Silver Age comics and Hawkworld certainly did.

If (Green) Arrow is their Batman stand-in and The Flash is their Superman stand-in, does anyone think that Hawkgirl might be their Wonder Woman stand-in for the shared DC TV universe?

Depending upon her origins, I think Hawkgirl could make for a decent stand-in. They have a somewhat similar "warrior" background, both are heavily influenced by foreign cultures, both have some similarity in their powers, including the use of the trademark "magical" weapon, etc.

Its certainly possible. Which is partly why I had hoped they wouldn't use Hawkman anytime soon, if ever. . .

    Here is Hawkgirl concept art:

They really should've stuck to it 100%, it looks fantastic.

They definitely should have kept that color scheme. I guess they wanted to give Hawkman and Hawkgirl that partner look.
