THE CINEMA LOUNGE

Again where's that Home Alone legacy sequel. 😭
Have you been living in a cave? Everyone loved the Home Alone legacy sequel starring the other kid from Jojo Rabbit with a cameo from Buzz as the only returning character. :o

He looks like Ralphie from a Christmas Story, which actually had a pretty good legacy sequel with an awful title. :o

I watched Smile 2 and overall it’s a slight improvement over the first one, but I still can’t say I care for the whole concept of this series. It’s predictable, bloated and frustrating to watch.

Rewatched 1917 in 4K and I’ve warmed up to it over the last 5 years. It’s an immersive technical achievement.

Feels like a relevant video for the thread.

Started off the new year watching a genre classic for me.

The Transporter

Sure it loses the plot once it becomes romantic, but the first 45 or so still make it a worth it. Still smitten over Shu Qi.

Streaming has made most films look like birds slamming against a wall. No legs, just death. Brad Pitt and Clooney made a film together and it didn’t even make a whimper. Lawd. Not saying it should’ve, based on reviews, but you know what I mean, even that type of flick would’ve been a mini event in some sense some years ago.Eh.

Man, I thought the same exact thing last night browsing Apple+. Between that and the Matt Damon/Casey Affleck movie, it was really weird to be reminded that we had two recent movies (from pretty well-known directors) with some of the biggest stars in the world and they barely made a blip on my radar. Yeah, something about that felt kinda bleak to me.

The funniest thing is that AppleTV+ was free last weekend and I could have watched it then but I totally forgot it existed.
Just like how people forget it exists when they get it a year free with their iPhone. :o
