The Clinton Thread II - Part 2

So you disagree with all the witch hunts that the left did to Bush and Cheney? None of those allegations or hearings hold any truth?

Hillary can't even admit wrong doing because she wants to avoid prosecution. She's a narcissist. She apologized tonight for the email thing because of her advisors. If she was sorry, she would have been sorry months and months ago when she was dodging.

What relating toBush and Cheney would you describe as a witch hunt?

Not even 9/11 was investigated for as long or asany times as Benghazi.

In Hacked Audio, Hillary Clinton Rethinks Obama’s Nuclear Upgrade Plan

WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton expressed doubts about whether the United States should go forward with a trillion-dollar modernization of its nuclear forces at a fund-raiser in February, questioning an Obama administration plan that she has remained largely silent on in public.

Mrs. Clinton also suggested she would be far tougher against foreign nations that hack into American computer networks and would kill one of the Pentagon’s pet projects, a nuclear-tipped cruise missile.

“The last thing we need,” she told the audience, “are sophisticated cruise missiles that are nuclear armed.”

Her comments were contained in an audio recording of the fund-raiser that appeared on the website of The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative publication, which said it was gleaned from the hack of a campaign staff member. But it said nothing about who did the hacking.
Aren't hackers supposed to release things which make someone look bad? I can see this making people more likely to vote for her than less.

Despite the fact that Obama is being a good party member and campaigning like hell for Clinton, it's no secret that the two have some fundamental disagreements on some of the bigger issues. I'm not sure why some would think it was scandalous that she's not lock-step in line with him on everything?

Although this is somewhat surprising in that she's seen as being far more centrist and hawkish than Obama, yet she's against an arsenal upgrade like this.

Leaked audio of Hillary at a February fundraising events calling Sanders supporters "children of the Great Recession" who "are living in their parents' basement."

This isn't looking good. She's going to lose some Sanders supporters when she adopted his platform.

I seriously doubt this is going to do any long term damage to her though. The majority of former Sanders supporters are already supporting Clinton. The 10% that were undecided, probably weren't going to support Clinton in the first place anyway.

C'mon guys, let's be honest. Most millennial Bernie supporters do live in their mom's basement.

Yeah, if you read the whole conversation she doesn't really say anything that isn't true. She's not dismissing them, she's understanding why they are taking such extreme untenable positions.

There was nothing negative in what she said about Bernie's supporters. Nothing to get worked up about.

Clearly you didn't get the memo, Matt, these days getting worked up is the only correct response to everything :o

Well in that case:

Eh, I don't think this will hurt much. Bernie already told his supporters not to vote for someone because he told them to.

Yeah its not really much more than a clickbait headline. What Clinton is saying is that many Sanders supporters are people who got out of University/College just as the banking crisis hit, they found themselves knocked off the housing ladder before they even got on it and are often having to take menial jobs that they are overqualified for simply because they can't get anything else. They are still staying with family because they can't afford better and they hoped that Sanders would be the person who would do something to improve things.

I especially like this post:

What's that about HIllary's emails again?
Lol, you really want the amount of text necessary to fit into that ~150 x 150 px picture? :cwink:

Hillary's Solar Panels Not Worth the Cost

Man, the Obamas did quite a number on people's perception of Clinton.

I really don't view newsmax as a trustworthy source. Article would have held more weight if they didn't put it in the form of opinion and just talked about costs and left it at that

It takes of all 2 seconds reading this to realize they just publishing the reports from a Right leaning think tank(The American Action Forum)

http://instituteforenergyresearch.org/analysis/hillary-clintons-500-million-solar-panel-plan-cost/

Somewhat related, is there a leftwingwatch.org?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_for_Energy_Research

IER is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and is funded entirely by tax deductible contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations.[1][7] IER has received funding from the Brown Foundation (started by founders of a construction and energy company), the Searle Freedom Trust and the Claude R. Lambe Charitable Foundation.[8] They have also previously received funding from ExxonMobil[9] and from the American Petroleum Institute.[10] IER says that it has not sought for or accepted financial support from the government.[1]

Haven't looked into the other donors but not sure I would put much stock into places Exxon and API put cash into

And a little further searching(and this really shouldn't come as any surprise)

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Institute_for_Energy_Research

The Institute for Energy Research (IER), founded in 1989 from a predecessor non-profit organization registered by Charles G. Koch and Robert L. Bradley Jr., advocates positions on environmental issues including deregulation of utilities, climate change denial, and claims that conventional energy sources are virtually limitless.

It amazes me the Koch loves Tax breaks except when it comes to allowing people to buy Solar panels and get a tax break on it.

quick question since no one is talking in the Trump thread... how many countries did Trump say ISIS is in now?

So...with that out of the way,
have you read either of those 2 studies yet?

The AAF makes a very compelling case based on the data presented via eia.gov
and the IFER has a more extreme projection but operates under a similar, though less researched, rationale.

Say what you want about how calculated Hillary is, but she's the kind of calculated and well-planned that I really have to raise a glass for and admire.

First, her campaign sat on that Miss Universe video ad, until she waited until the closing statements of the debate to mention Alicia Machado. Then BAM the ad hit, and Trump took the bait like a chump. :hehe: It must have been planned for weeks at the very least, maybe even months.

And then 17 hours after the NYT leaks Trump's tax returns, BAM AGAIN. https://***********/HillaryClinton/status/782639898549510144

Something like this isn't that hard to code (considering every answer is $0.00), but it would still take more 17 hours for most developers to think up, code, test, then deploy.

I don't think she's in collusion with the media, BTW. It's a much simpler explanation that her team thought of all the ways to hit Trump (which isn't hard), and is doling it out piecemeal as the opportunities arise. I really do have to admire it. :awesome:

The team that runs her twitter is also pretty good.

I quickly glanced at them the main issue I take with them is they basically just calculate the potential costs without taking into consideration of any positive benefits(jobs created/impact for economy, positive impact on the energy grid, potential of bringing down prices of energy for everybody, etc)

Beyond that they seem to go out of the way to ignore this is over a 4 year period and the money used is basically tax writeoffs(as I said I thought republicans are supposed to be the party of less Taxes) for people buying solar panels

‘Wednesday Hillary Clinton Is Done’: Reports Julian Assange’s Announcement On Tuesday Will Finish Her

Is it the October surprise?
Jesse Rodriguez, the senior producer for MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” posted what could be interpreted as an ominous comment on social media last week regarding Julian Assange.

Julian Assange set to make an announcement from his balcony in London next Tuesday, according to @WikiLeaks
