The Collector writing team Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the duo spilled that they're planning on shooting the sequel to the slasher this October!

The slasher follows the story of handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employers country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked Collector in a maze of lethal invention the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob.
"
Mickey Liddell [the executive producer of the first film] is gonna do it, and hes gonna finance it, but I dont know what the distribution plan would be," Dunstan tells Bloody Disgusting. "
It depends, I guess well see what happens
.the plan is to actually start shooting this October. Thats the loose plan that we have, so well see if we can hit that."
This is good news for
The Collector fans, although whether Dunstan will be getting behind the camera again remains to be seen:
"
Possibly," Dunstan told us. "
That could very well happen. If everything lines up appropriately, meaning if weve got the budget to do it right, and the time to do it right, then absolutely. I think itd be nuts to not seriously consider that."
