The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨SPOILERS🚨)

Still better than Chalamet’s Wonka which was like high school play level acting of “whimsy”!

Gene Wilder is the only answer in this category lol
NGL, I think Chalamet is a significantly better actor than Depp ever was. Almost every Depp performance has aged so badly they make me want to crawl out of my own skin.

I have exactly zero Henry Cavill Superman posters and/or collectibles, so this is a very low-stakes bet! :o

I love all three Wonkas.

I found Grandpa Joe’s cocaine nail and jerk wad attitude to be an interesting choice in the Wilder version.
I appreciated the faithfulness to the novel in the Burton version.
The Chalamet version was earnest enough and I didn’t think that it was bad by any stretch of the imagination

Actually laughing out loud at that description of Grandpa Joe.

Yeah hopefully the Planet will seem equally wholesome and familial in nature.

Alright now we’re talking, that’s exactly what a daily planet should look like

The world of Superman and Art Deco should always go hand-in-hand, at least if you’re attempting to make something faithful to the source material

I believe that's the Terminal Tower Residences in the Public Square.

Someone on the internet mentioned it might be The Leader Building instead. They have similar entrances.

It appears that the Daily Planet and Luthercore will be heavily involved with this movie. I remember hearing how fans were concerned that this was not a Superman movie but a bootleg Justice League/Authoity one.

This is the kind of picture that reassures me about the film's artistic direction.
Despite my reservations about certain aspects of Superman's costume, ultimately, my perception of it will be strongly influenced by its surroundings. A retro-futuristic Metropolis is the ideal direction for me. Plus, I don't care for these films trying to look like "they're set in our reality", so that's a good sign to me.

Also... Revolving doors huh? ;)

Funny how in Returns, Singer spent a fortune building his own (admittedly beautiful) set and here they just find a real place and borrow it for a little. But it looks good. I love how much work seems to be going into the Planet scenes.
