The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨SPOILERS🚨)

Yes, and Gunn himself will also get notes. Like the great ATC sang; la la la la la it goes around the world.

Now! I’m curious what notes he gave on Joker 2. Lol

Damn, Now that song is stuck and might as well listen.

Every blockbuster director gets notes from the studio, there's no 100% control when hundreds of millions of dollars are on the line.

If a director doesn't want notes, they better be ready to finance a movie out of their own pocket.
Huh...I always thought it was a coincidence 90% of MCU films were the same! Are you saying Kevin Feige and Di$ney weren't hands off?? :o :o :o :o :o :o

My guess is Dec 15, as the date marks the 46th anniversary of Superman: The Movie.
Whelp, so much for Dec 15! :sigh:

Assuming we don't get it for CCXP, which is still a possibility despite Gunn's absence from the event, it'll probably be on some random day between now and WTHK.

My guess is still Kansas. Classic rock is four quadrant music and they have a lot of songs that have lyrics that are perfectly Superman.

Everyone's aware, they know to change the world, we've got to care
And people all should know, should have happened long ago
Or could it be that I just now found out?
Life is meant to share and it means the same thing everywhere
Living everyday, helping people on their way

Don't be unkind, I'm not complaining
I only feel it needs explaining
And though I've said it all before, I'll say it once again
Everyone needs something to believe in

So turn around, turn around it's on the other side
Feel the sound, feel the sound, it's coming from deep inside
It will fill you with emotion if you let it be your guide so
Turn around, turn around, it's on the other side

I'm waiting for the day to end another to begin
Somehow I've forgotten what it stood for
I look into your face and see the searching in your eyes
I will be your servant till the end

The music plays, and for a moment I feel
That all these days are so fulfilling
And though I've said it all before I'll say it once again
Everyone needs something to believe in

I've always preferred original film scores to "needle drops" in movies like these... or so I thought. There are more and more occasions where I don't mind it and actually really enjoy it.
But it has to match and flow very well with the vibe of the movie and it has to be a not-so-popular track imo.

I'm a Bowie fan, but I believe “Starman” would have been a bit too “on the nose” in a Superman movie.
Now, if you pull out something like “Subteraneans” in a scene where Superman, alone in the Fortress of Solitude, is contemplating relics from his lost world... I wouldn't mind!

Thinking along the lines of something rock related, I found this concept the other day made by a trailer music company:

Now, whether or not they’ll actually use some version of this song in the trailer, I don’t know, but I imagine this is probably the sort of vibe they’ll probably be going for. They definitely need to come out swinging and go all in and really grab audiences’ attention.

Hearing something along these lines would definitely get me hyped for sure.

You'll get Creed and like it. :o

Y’all are choosing really on-the-nose stuff and I just don’t see Gunn going for any of that.

That said, that trailer mix of “My Hero” gave me chills. Some trailer really should pay those people and use that lol.

You mean to tell me you would disapprove of :

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?
If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand?
I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might
Kryptonite, yeah

I mean, you already got an old and pudgy over the hill Fillion as a Lantern. You Supe fans can add just a bit more clutter in this.

:o

Fillion’s playing the punching bag Lantern which is the definition of perfect casting but nice effort I guess. :funny:
