The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨SPOILERS🚨)

As someone who has been 10 feet from the stage (twice) for Metallica I say let Clark like what he likes 😉

I don't think it's so much that people have given up on Supes, it's more that...Superman hasn't returned! We thought he might in SR but we didn't get Superman!...MOS.... Not Superman! (Not trying to cause trouble, I just mean the general public) ... I think people have been waiting for The Superman! The one that people of all ages and understanding of Supes will recognise and I god damn hope that's what Gunn delivers.
Agreed. We need this superman to be willing to go out of his way to stop a.purse snatcher as quick as he would be in stopping a supervillain.
His first scene/reveal as Superman should be as memorable as his first reveal in S:TM was. Shirt rip, epic music playing, etc.

Can't say nothing on the teaser...NDA.

However, I can tell you that, as someone who grew up with the 1978 film, it's the greatest thing that I have personally seen about the character from 1980 to today.

It must be said that, regardless of the opinion on the films, as far as the teaser trailers are concerned, I also love the ones for "Superman Returns" and "Man of Steel".

Lot of talk and buzz when it will be out for everyone to see and I personally can't wait to see it again 100 times!

Warner believes A LOT in the movie and in Gunn. I quote verbatim "the film that will begin a new superhero era, different from anything we have ever seen before".

As for the DCU’s upcoming live-action launch, Gunn is currently test-screening Superman (2025), and he remains absolutely bullish about David Corenswet’s Superman/Clark Kent.

“Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, David Corenswet is going to freak everyone out with how great he is,” Gun insists. “He is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with, and he can do everything. The man is incredible.”

How did you get so lucky and will get to see the trailer by the end of this week?

Can you at least say if it is a hard turn away from the Snyderverse take on things?

Cavill’s Superman was a direct adaption of “Whatever Happened to the Man of Too-Much-Sorrow.”

I’ll be here all weeks folks!

It still amazes me that they thought the way to appeal to people was to make Superman this depressed, brooding loner. Like, Superman is occasionally deeply reflective and questions his actions. But to make him like that for multiple movies was such a huge misstep. I know they wanted to lean into the Nolan influence, but even Nolan’s Batman had moments of levity. I know Cavill gets a lot of blame for his performance but he’s been charismatic and charming in other things like Enola Holmes and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I don’t know what they decided to suck all the charm out of him.

It must be said that excluding the first 4 positions which are in order, the other 6 films are practically interchangeable depending on the mood. I love them all equally.

What event was this?

Nolan’s movies had some fantastic comedy. It was subtle, but there were some dynamite lines in there from Freeman, Caine, etc.

I honestly doubted the film would make the July 2025 release date. And now he's screening it for people already. Gunn really knows how to crank out his stuff, guy's like a conveyor belt.
Helps to have everything written and planned out the exactly the way you want it before filming leading to little to no need for last minute reshoots and/or pick-ups, giving the VFX artists the proper amount of time needed to polish their work and thus delivering on time without worrying about rushing anything and/or putting forth something that should’ve cooked in the oven a bit longer.

Can you say if it looks like any other film? Or if its highly stylised, feels like a comic book world?

Arghh I'm gonna splode!
