The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

It's obviously too early to discuss a sequel since we haven't seen this film. But if it's a good movie and successful, I would hope they follow it up with a direct superman sequel.

It would be such a missed opportunity to finally have a take on superman that is liked and not capitalize on that.

I do think it's particularly risky bringing a brand new batman into it if that is what Gunn wants to do.

I'm reading the Entertainment Weekly article and I LOVE how David recognizes the comparisons to Tom Welling and Christopher Reeve, but also gives respect to those past interpretations while insuring that this is something new.

And then there's Rachel. The way she speaks about that interview scene seems like comes at a critical point in the movie, or a least is going to be a heavy emotional moment.

It was beautiful to hear her talk about how it's BECAUSE they see the world so differently that they kind of need each other. Both actors have REALLY done their homework.
I feel like it is rather early in the film...

Not open here yet...they hate us in Flyover country :o :fuming:

The question is, if I am seeing it in IMAX at the Amazon Screening what format do I see it in for the opening? Real 3D? DLX (19 miles away) or just standard?

It's funny you mention flyover country.

For laughs I looked up showtimes where I used to live. We only have Cinemark there and there's only one showing at 6pm on Saturday.

Where did you used to live? Dont see many Cinemarks these days...

LOL at Lois' reaction! "HOLY SH-"

And "Good luck with THAT." I love that David's Superman can be the big blue boy scout but still be a bit of a wise a**.

EDIT: I went ahead and edited my post for people who might not have watched the TV spots.

I have a few apps open waiting for whichever one goes live with tickets first.
I saw a spot on YouTube where Superman
picked up a water tower, supports and all, and swung it like a baseball bat at the kaiju. Water went everywhere when he hit it in the head

IF it's a team up film instead of a vs one, I think it would be fine, but....I'd rather see the new batman in his solo film first. I'd rather get to "know" him first instead of seeing him thrown in a WF film.

OH MY GOSH! So hyped!

Epic! Just a couple questions because it’s a little hard to make out the dialogue at times.

What does Superman say after “No matter what you do to me, Luthor”?

What does Luthor say before “Let them die”?

Superman says "your plan wont work" I think.

"They chose him" is what Luthor says I believe.

God Luthor is everything I want!

“They chose him!!!”
That line is exactly the Lex I have always wanted to see. That is the Lex from the comics, the one in 52 who gave everyone powers then took them all away on NYE with the push of a button killing thousands just to be spiteful!

I was pretty excited for this movie with liking the other trailers but this trailer has me worried and was not great for me at all. Kinda worried now honestly for this movie.

I’m probably in the minority though

Why?

Yup. they chose him, so let them die, or something like that.
