I heard the imax here in NYC is sold out for the next two weeks.

It's going to be NUTS at Eastridge Mall in San Jose. We are going to go wait in line right now and the movie doesnt start for another 4 hours. We are taking NO CHANCES!

This is ridiculous - I'm not seeing the film until tomorrow afternoon, but I just watched my local news and they had a LIVE report from a sold out show at the local IMAX theatre. They had a costume contest along with an open bar.

Believe it or not, plenty of people were in Joker make-up, including chicks......maybe this will be a record breaking weekend.........

Guess what, I can't see TDK tomorow, I did go to kicking and screening though, I am seeing it on tuesday though.

I think this movie is going to way bigger then we think, and I mean box office wise.
From what I have seen, I think this could beat Spiderman 3 (Hey! I want to believe it and I think TDK can do it)

I was looking at tickets today and about 30 midnight shows sold out today!
Yesterday there were tons of tickets and today, none.

Ksat 12 (a local news station) just showed a sky view of the highways and roads that lead to the Palladium IMAX Theater here in San Antonio Texas and OH MY GOD, it is bumper to bumper out there the news anchors even said that people are no doubt on their way to the midnight showings to The Dark Knight! From the skyview you could even see how they are screening the trailers for TDK on the walls of the Palladium outside! Hang on people because we are in for something very special and HUGE, and anyone who doesn't think this movie will be HUGE at the box office is in freakin denial.....or an Iron Man Marval fan!

CNN says: "The Dark Knight" already has risen to second place on Fandango.com's all-time list of advance tickets sales, second only to "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."

I know that all the shows here around San Francisco are sold out- I'll be there (again) tomorrow night @five as soon as I get off of work.

I caught the first session of IMAX Sydney on opening day. The 3pm one. Every single session was sold out for the day. I got there about 1pm and there was already a line. But I didn't know it was for a IMAX documentary.

After they went in, there were people that were left waiting for TDK. I was about the 7th or 8th person in line along with my friend. Surprisingly, a group of really pretty Korean girls were the first in line. I guess the Bat-fandom really spreads out far. I met a Christian Bale fan. She was just starting out as an actress and told me that her inspiration was the Bale. That was cool.

It got more and more packed for The Dark Knight as time went by and eventually the line was outside the door.

Walking (Running would be more like it) in the theatre was pretty surreal. About the crowd reactions...

The opening scene is filmed in the IMAX format. And when it popped up on the screen everyone pretty much went, "WOOOOOOOW!!!" - myself included. The screen in Sydney is 8 or 9 stories high, I believe the biggest in the world. It pretty much fills up your whole field of vision (depending on where you sit, I was in the middle-rear).

The crowd also went wild when the Bat symbol came blazing into the screen in blue flames right before the opening scene. So just imagine screaming and yelling for Batman and suddenly cut off by the sound of, "WOOOOW's"

Sydney Imax is actually booked through to next week. I just booked for next wednesday.

I managed to get a ticket to Sunday's 9pm session today.

The theater was about 95-96% full (although my theater had it playing on 3 screens).

After the movie ended, there was a huge round of applause.

10 midnight showings all sold out at the AMC 16 in Danbury, CT; at 375 people per theater that comes out to 3750 people on opening night. They quickly had to add three 1 AM showings to facilitate the spill over crowd. The place was mobbed, it was pandemonium, the employees couldn't keep up with the crowd or the 3000 tickets they were being giving all at once. Just got home from it, it was the greatest cinematic experience I've ever had. It was like the greatest Batman graphic novel brought to life, Miller, O'neil or Loeb couldn't have done it better.

I went to a theater here in New Jersey (seeing it in IMAX tomorrow) for a midnight show.

At the theater, they originally had one midnight show that sold out. They added a 12:05. That sold out. They added two more shows. All sold out. Nearly 1200 tickets sold.

Anyway, the movie was incredible, Heath was more amazing that I could ever dream, and the crowd loved it. During the big bat-pod chase, everyone cheered. The Joker got a ton of laughs

When the movie ended, everyone clapped loudly (myself included).

I can't explain the emotions I am going through right now all I have to say is SPECTACULAR! : : : : : : The crowd at the place I went to (a drive in) could not be heard, being in their cars. But...the place went crazy when it was over, honking the horns and you could hear people yelling out their windows haha Rural Indiana for ya!

Huge applause at the end of the film. 10 sold out screenings and the place was a mob afterwards. Lot of people stayed for the credits. Pretty decent ovations for Heath's name and the tribute later on. (I was on my feet with my hands in the air clapping for both). Didnt hear a single negative comment in the crowd outside. It was my 2nd time seeing it (1st was tuesday) and it was just as epic the 2nd time around. I will see this film again at least twice this weekend. The bar has been raised yet again for superhero films and storytelling in general. I have never felt so in love with a film right after a screening, its indescribable...

Three screenings at my theater...and they were all sold out. I arrived an hour early (11pm) and the line was a friggin' mile long...and it only got longer.
