Batman Begins' was $150 mill, right ? This will probably be around the same ?

They might give him more because of the success with the first one...

I guess it would be about the same, maybe a little more or less. You have to remember that a lot of the sets from the last film are still up, so they don't have to waste money rebuilding all of it.

Yeah, but I don't think he would really need it.

Ok, didn't know that.

150-175? I don't see them using a whole lot of SFX, just like the last movie, so pretty much the same, budget wise, I guess!

I'm no expert, but that sounds a bit too much for a Batman movie.

Or less because of the flop that was Superman Returns.

It was already said one of the main reasons WB invested so much money in the last film was because they could re-use sets, and Nolan promised to shoot the second film for significantly less than the first because of this. My guess is it will be shot for $150 million or less.

It will probably start around 130 because of the sets being up already. However, Batman has become WB's new "tentpole" franchise. I mean, no disrespect to Superman, but looking at SUPERMAN RETURNS and BATMAN BEGINS' boxoffice, not to mention the box office for almost all the latest WB movies, BATMAN is the one to beat.

That said, I think that if Nolan needs more money, I think they'll let him make a withdrawl up to about 180 million.

$150m, just like BB had.

Why?

1) They trust Nolan and that is why they will give him huge budget.

2) After low numbers of SR, they will give him the same budget (still huge), because they dont want to pay much.

you are awhere superman Returns is makeing the same kind of money Batman Begins made. And begins wasn't exactly spider-man buy the way [not even close]. I expect the budget for the sequel to be the same as the first, but maybe alittle less.

Actually, there is difference in the budget. SR had $204m budget, so it should have made about $250-280m.

Superman is barely making their budget back. Batman had over $100 million profit.

(not counting toys, books, etc.)

I think they will give Nolan around the same amount, if not a little bit more than Begins. My guess is in the region of $150 million to $160 million.

I don't see the budget going up as far as $200 million, that just seems too much and I doubt Nolan would need that kind of amount anyway.

I wish I had that much money

I also wish Nolan had that much money, but not as much as I wish I had it.

the existing set? they don't need it? are you kidding? there's dozens of freaks wandering the narrows aimlessly. i think they'll use it again. oh i think they will. maybe it will be someone's lair! :D
