'DAWN OF MARVELS' RPG Application
Screenname: Master Bruce
Character You Would Like To Play: Spider-Man/Peter Parker
Powers: Spider-Man possesses amazing arachnid like agility, grace, strength, and stamina. Additionally, he can shoot an organic webbing substance from his wrists, stick and cling to any surface as a result of miniature defensive and offensive "needles" that can be controlled throughout his body, and possesses a pre-cognitive sense that allows him to predict danger seconds before it occurs.
Basic History Of The Character (Up until this point): A student of Empire State University with the highest honors in the scientific field from High School, the 19 year old Peter Parker's dreams of becoming a renowned and famous inventor seemed to be a sure thing when Peter's friend Harry Osborn managed to talk his father into reserving a spot for him. But when the company went to near bankruptcy and the spot had to be dropped, Peter found himself desperate for money, as he had hoped to help his Uncle Ben and Aunt May pay off their debts for all of the years they had spent raising him. Looking to get a part time job with Doctor Curt Conner's physicianary firm, Peter was accidentally bitten on the hand by a lab spider that had escaped the facility's testing grounds.
At first, the spider's effects seemed minimal, as Conners himself checked Peter's blood after the incident. Going home, citing that he didn't feel well as a result of the stress, Peter's body went through a dramatic change overnight, as the spider venom proceeded to bond with his DNA. By the time Peter woke up, he was both shocked and amazed to find that he was clung to his bedroom ceiling. Realising that his physique had also improved, Peter began to discover other strange abilities, as he accidentally shot out what appeared to be a web during a job interview that, needless to say, didn't turn out well. But as Peter began to realise he had become superpowerful, he began to get cocky, showing off and using his powers for his own gain to both humiliate a college rival named Eugene "Flash" Thompson, and impress the former cheerleader captain and the love of Peter's life, Gwen Stacy.
Entering a stunt show at the Liberty Island fair, donned in a mask and bug-like goggles, Peter amazed the crowd with his abilities. Impressing a producer for MTV, Peter was finally offered a true job when he agreed to appear in his own reality show. But realising that his identity couldn't be exposed, for fear that his life would become extremely complicated, Peter crafted a homemade costume to hide his identity and add to his gimmick, dubbing himself "Arachnoid", a name that would later be ditched upon realising it was too corny.
Arriving on set to shoot the pilot of his show, Peter witnessed a robbery take place at the ticket booth. But already in a hurry, and citing that he had more important things to worry about, Peter simply let the thug run past him as he entered the studio.
With his first taping a true success, as a live audience was capitivated by the stunts Peter had displayed, Peter went to stop for some coffee before heading home. It was at the local coffee shop that Peter approached a crime scene, as the owner had been brutally shot down and murdered. Realising, horrifically, that it was none other than his Uncle Ben before he could truly confirm it, Peter demanded to know where the murderer was. Being told he had fleed to hide in Brooklyn, Peter dashed across the city and changed into his costume.
Confronting the murderer as he took hostages to try and escape, the gunman was caught off guard and defeated by an enraged Peter, who proceeded to attempt to kill him. But when Peter got a look at his face, he was shocked to learn that the murderer was none other than the same man that he had let rob the ticket booth. Turning the murderer over to the police, that night, Peter Parker learned a powerful lesson that would haunt him for years to come: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility.
Taking this notion to heart, and realising he could no longer let himself be selfish, Peter used the costume and abilities to help other people, taking on criminals and lower level street gangs, and easily subduing them for the police. This managed to catch the attention of a suffering tabloid, The Daily Bugle, who proceeded to flame Peter's alter-ego for being a freak, and perhaps even a mutant, a race of which had threatened humankind with a war declaration led by Magneto. Dubbed "The Unamusing Spider-Man" by the tabloid's readers, and columnist Edward Brock, Peter realised that being a hero came with a price, as he continues using his powers and abilities to carry on his responsibility as The Spectacular Spider-Man.
Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1. Spider-Man is my favorite Marvel character ever, and among my favorite comic book characters.
2. I have ideas for a new interpretation of him, one of which I can't play in any other RPG.
3. Since I've thought up concepts for this character above all others, I've already got ideas in mind for his rogues' gallery, aswell, should anyone want to play them, and need ideas.
What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person (IE: How are you changing him or her?): I want to make this Spider-Man a bit darker. Peter's usually a do-gooder and an optimist with, ironically, low self esteem, which he hides with wisecracks and puns when doing battle. I don't want to change that, but rather simplify it, as while he'll have a sense of humor, it'll flow more naturally, as opposed to him going out of his way to make one. I also want to show Peter's struggles with employment and every day problems, aswell as living in darker times and having to resort to a darker ego to blend into them.
Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I think, from what I've been told of my experience in the 616 and One Universe RPG's, that I can bring forth a faithful portrayl of Spider-Man admist the changes I'll be making. I also want to try and entertain people with my own versions of his supporting cast, including everyone from Aunt May, to J. Jonah Jameson, right down to Harry Osborn and Mary Jane Watson.
What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Characters Speech? (Makes the roster look better): Spider-Man, Red Bold Verdana. Peter Parker, Red Verdana.

...WHAT?!
Peter Parker stared, wide eyed, down at the paper in his hands. He wanted to rip it apart in anguish, but he was almost sure he'd be cited for littering. So he kept his rants to himself. However, would anyone have heard said rants, they would've fleed the area in fear of what Peter might have done, given how annoyed he was.
I can't believe this! I just can't! Why is this happening to me?!
In his hand rested a copy of The Daily Bugle, a tabloid of which no one but sleep deprived degenerates and broke mentally inept even considered picking up. But since Peter had fit the "broke" citera, he had found himself picking up a copy during a walk home from another failed job interview. And what he read, needless to say, had caught his attention. And not in a good way.
"Suspects of 32nd street robbery were apprehended earlier this morning, found in what can only be described as a makeshift, human sized webbing. And while the suspects are currently pending charges, and have been said to have had no accomplaces, it is this reporter's opinion that this was simply not the case. While many have stated the vigilante is infact, one of heroism, we have absolutely no proof behind the motives of the masked mutant menace known to the Big Apple as "The Spider-Man". So in relative theory, how long will it take before his acts of brutal heroism (brutal, folks, by the way, is not to be tolerated), turn into acts of self involved attacks on the innocent of New York? We at the Daily Bugle think that may be a question better left to the police, who should be on a city-wide manhunt for the wallcrawler." ...A city-wide manhunt?! For what?! That's just a load of crap! A complete load!
Sighing to himself, and crumbling up the issue, Peter tossed it into a nearby recycle bin and headed out to the streets. He didn't have time for such biased garbage... He had to schedule another job interview by the night's end, because he knew if he didn't, he, and his Aunt May would be living at a shelter in due time. But what kind of job could he find? Who would actually take him?
Peter's eyes widened, as he realised that his skull was vibrating. That usually happened whenever trouble arose, near him. Looking around, a bit frantically, Peter peered into an alleyway as he spotted a mugger holding up a defenseless young woman. Looking around, and spotting a phonebooth, Peter considered it for a second. Then, he shook his head.
Too 70's.
Opting for a rooftop above him, Peter leaped up, effortlessly, and scaled the building in seconds, lifiting up his shirt to reveal the crimson webbed pattern that lied beneath it.
On the streets, the mugger was getting impatient with the woman, as she struggled to dig out her valubles for him. Grabbing her by the throat, the woman began to cry, as the mugger decided to cease the entire bag for himself. Throwing her a smile, covering his rancid breath, the mugger clicked the barrel of his gun and whispered to the woman.
"Say a word, I'll make you a memory, darlin'.", He stated, evilly, as the woman could only nod in between silent cries. Walking back, gun aimed, the mugger proceeded to run forward, laughing to himself. What an easy score. It was almost like he didn't even need to try.
That was when he heard the sound. The sound that muggers on this side of the city usually heard, before they found themselves prey to an unseen strand of webbing. To which the mugger did, upon feeling something yank his hand. Looking back, the thug found himself dragged backwards in a swift motion, as a scarlet and black figure rested on the wall above the area, pulling with all of his might.
In a flash, the figure had leaped from one side of the wall to the other, before pouncing on the thug and wordlessly, aswell as effortlessly, pummelling the thug into oblivion, letting the bruised and battered creep fall to the ground in a slump. The figure turned, silently viewing the scared young woman, before turning and firing a web to her purse, and leaping to her.
Resting the purse on the ground infront of her, He nodded, once, reassuring she was alright, and leaped onto the wall. The woman looked up, slightly dazed from what had just happened, and how fast it had happened, as she asked him, "Wh... Who are you?"
The figure paused, mid crawl, before looking back. He didn't know if he should say anything, or even what to say. But then, the tabloid headline came back into his mind. And suddenly, he realised... he really needed to start improving his own reputation.
"I'm... Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?", Spider-Man stated, a bit unsure, before leaping back into the sky and firing out a webline, swininging into the night.
...Wow, that was corny.
