Hoechlin is great. But I would think that a large slice of the movie-going public have never watched Superman and Lois, and their only exposure to live-action Superman over the last 10 years has been Henry Cavill.
By far, the best parts of the series are Clark and Lois’s interactions as a couple. Kudos are deserved. Unfortunately, the rest is mostly typical CW soap opera.

People who actively choose to miss out on a peak Superman portrayal due to some network bias or some preoccupation with production values (the best television shows in history are rarely the most expensive-looking ones in my experience)…are the types of fans I’ll just never understand. But to each their own! I’ll just be grateful I finally got a fantastic live-action portrayal of my all-time favorite fictional character that actually lines up with the one I’ve been reading my whole life. Only had to wait 30+ years to get it, and it’s a shame it’s only lasting 4 seasons, but it was worth it, and hopefully the movies can now pick up the baton where it leaves off since they’ve seen a better example of how a “modern” Superman actually works. Tyler Hoechlin is simply the best live-action Superman there’s ever been imo. Not the most famous or most iconic since his audience is smaller, but the best, nonetheless. He raised the bar as far as I’m concerned, and now I’m just hoping David can meet it, and maybe even raise it further.
Kyle was an absolute waste of space lol. This show had a great Clark (my favourite Clark - Reeves still unbeatable as Supes), a great Lois and easily the best partnership between/combo of the two.
Believe me, I absolutely hated the idea of seeing this, but as the show went on I was happy to have seen a Superman family work on screen. By the end the boys were part of the show’s charm for me.

Nope. Can't say I agree with that at all. Whether Superman 1978, Man of Steel, or Superman and Lois, I enjoy them all, with Man of Steel being my favorite Superman film, though I think Hoechlin might have the best portrayal of both Clark and Superman, with that show nailing a lot about Clark and his family dynamic. But I'll leave it at that since I know many a-person here detest Man of Steel with a passion. But I love it and make no apologies for it no more than I would apologize for liking Superman 1978 or Superman and Lois.
To be clear, there are some elements of MoS that I like quite a bit. But there are many elements of it that I think miss the mark of what makes the character who he is. But I by no means fault anyone who likes the film and that was not my intention.
