Wow... this might be the lightest week I've had in months.

I'll skim Batman: Gates of Gotham but doubt I'll get it. I skimmed the first issue and didn't get it because the art didn't pull me in but I'm curious about Snyder, especially since he'll be writing Batman in September. I'll give it a skim though.

I'm most excited for X-Men Legacy due to how good it's been since Age of X and I'm always eager to read more Iron Fist and Nate Grey in Iron Man 2.0 and New Mutants.

Small but good week.

Now, this week (and the one before) I can handle. More than 3-4 comics but not something absurd like 11 at once. To be fair to Marvel, I am getting two Image books this week. GUARDING THE GLOBE has really gone off the rails in terms of schedule; it was meant to take place during the INVINCIBLE WAR arc in INVINCIBLE, but that'll be over for about 2-3 issues before GTG is even finished. Kirkman is likely being stretched thin between his TV show and all his Image books. I can imagine that's why he left HAUNT. For the record, Kirkman has stopped with his "Marvel are greedy ****es" lectures since he has started selling some of his own Image comics for $3.50.

I didn't know MYSTERY MEN was double-shipping this month, but I don't mind; it's debut was a pleasant surprise. T-Bolts should be interesting given that Jeff Parker is losing some of his major cast members. It is only out of respect to Brubaker that I bother on CA, since it's now a moot story - who CARES what happens to Bucky in the Gulag - HE'S DEAD NOW! As for SECRET AVENGERS, it's on a month to month basis, but I likely may finish out Spencer's run and then bail on Ellis. I haven't forgiven him for "goat hooves Doom" in ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR.

So, 6 comics, with 3 being overpriced (although 1 of them is Image). Still should average to about $21 or so, which is right around my average these days.

Read his Detective Comics, it's amazing. He's already a few issues in, but it's worth going back and reading it all.

I am partly excited about his Batman, because of his Detective work, but somewhat worried, cuz it looks like it will be a different take than Detective, and because Jock isn't joining him on the art.

Looking at Previews, it appears none of the Image titles I was expecting this week will be coming out. Boy, has Image been plagued by delays lately. If it's posted as coming out, I can usually be assured that it will at least be delayed a week. About the only title that comes out on time is Walking Dead Weekly. Guess if it isn't a reprint, don't believe them.
