I’m intrigued but still unsure about Doomsday Clock.

were the protests by the public against Batman on the Watchmen earth or ours?

Thought issue two was good. Slow paced, but beginning to build the story very well. I’m not finding the weaving of the Watchmen tone and style with the DC universe jarring, which is a good sign. Only criticisms would be the two characters introduced feel a little too similar to Batman’s most famous psychopathic couple (I’m assuming this will pay off though) and not sure having ‘that’ character return was such a good move... but we’ll have to see. All in all, great stuff

I wouldn't be surprised if all these parallel characters end up together in a big mash. It's no accident that Rorschach ended up with who he did as did Viedt.

Was gonna guess that [blackout]Comedian's[/blackout] reappearance is due to Veidt's brain tumor taking a toll on his mind, but that might err on the side of cop-out.

Glad you mentioned it, I think you just may be right. Hadn't occurred to me at all.

The whole talk of [BLACKOUT]Jon being on DC's Earth and having taken another identity[/BLACKOUT] makes me wonder about this fan theory:
What if Jon is J'onn J'onzz? Jon has a connection to Mars and J'onn is from Mars... And both characters are ****ing OP. :hmm J'onn has been gone MIA since Rebirth started. I miss the guy. :csad:

Well, that brings me to my second theory about [blackout]Comedian[/blackout], rather than his appearance being a result of Veidt's brain tumor, he's [blackout]J'onn, someone capable of both looking into Veidt's mind and shapeshifting, and this was his way of knocking Veidt off balance[/blackout]. Perhaps he was recruited by Manhattan as well.

One of the things that really intrigues me in all of this is the circling back to the idea, first presented in the back-up material in Watchmen (I believe in Hollis Mason's book), that the first wave of DC Comics existed in that world and just went out of style due to the real life costumed heroes around that time. I'm really curious to see what's done with that.

    Neat easter egg:
The location where the Owlship crashed is the carnival from Killing Joke.

So is the story not in continuity? I hadn’t noticed
    protests against Batman
in Gotham lately in either Batman or Detective Comics.

The first two issues of Doomsday Clock have been quite interesting to say the very least.

Another solid issue of art by Gary Frank although a couple of the Geoff Johns moments I found kind of eye-rolling.

Rorschach easily wandering into Wayne Manor and finding the Batcave.

Marionette and Mime basically being less interesting analogues of Joker and Harley Quinn.

The resurrected Comedian showing up at the end shooting Luthor and Ozymandias.

    What If...
New Rorschach is someone like Mr. Terrific sent to the Watchmen verse by Batman to investigate the energy signature left in the events of "The Button"? Probably not though.

The "green fire" mentioned in the news article is the return of Alan Scott?

Am I the only one who thinks --

that the new Rorschach is really Owl Man, just taking his place? It's the first thing that came to my mind.

Did a review of the second issue, and do I think Doomsday Clock is essentially Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Watchmen fan fic? Sure, but it doesn't change the fact that, so far, this series is very well written and illustrated.

Been loving this series so far. Very well done both the writing and the art.
