I liked this movie. It was very intersting biopic of popular rock group with Jim Morisson as soloist.

I think there is more info about Morrisson that group itself. Why? I think because Morisson was the main face of The Doors.

The whole was very good for me. It is some kind of penetration into Morisson's head, we can see everything from his eyes.

Kilmer made good job with his role. Stone showed us what he wanted to show.

He wanted to show Jim's view on the world.

My rate is 8 out of 10.

Did you like it???

I grew up a huge Doors fan (owned all their albums by the time I was 12, read No One Hear gets Out Alive, Jim's writings, etc..) and I must admit that I found the movie to merely be good.

I think the film was too sugary and I wasn't too happy with the presentation of Morrison. I don't think they tackled his demons nor did they handle his ego well enough.

I have found that more people who were fans of The Doors before this movie don't like the film nearly enough as those who became fans of the band after seeing the film.

Funny :D

I voted good also. I've been a Doors fan for ages. It was scary how much Val looked like Jim though...just scary.

it's really not funny, it's sad and pathetic

I was in high school back when the movie came out, and by then I had already heard most of their material, I even had at least three of their albums, so I was familiar with them, but you do you know how many morrison wanabes popped out just right after the movie came out?

they were too many after the first one

and nope, the movie does not present Jim's vision of the world, it merely showcases Oliver Stone's *********ory band worship, or Morrison worship

how come Pamela Morrison didn't actually show up or approved of the movie but the oportunistic "witch" who "married" him even had a cameo?

one little detail, did you know that Stone wanted to credit Jim Morrison for writting Light My Fire in the movie?

it was not that bad of a movie, it showed the key events in their career, but missed many points, way too many

I dont know much about this, thanx

Oliver Stone's The Doors is quite simply the greatest horror film of all time.

Its inaccurate, depressing, destructive, and shows only one side of James Douglas Morrison. The only good it did was get new people into the band (myself included) and we got to see what it would have been like to be at Miami or New Haven. I liked Kilmer though. I'm a huge fan, by far and away my favorite band and have studied them for quite a while, also saw 4 shows by the Doors of the 21st Century.

Hence why I said "I have found that more people who were fans of The Doors before this movie don't like the film nearly enough (as much) as those who became fans of the band after seeing the film."

I was a Freshman in college when the film came out and, NO LIE, before this film came out I couldn't find one Doors fan at all. After the film, Doors fans and Jim-wannabes popped out of the woodwork at a very rapid rate. It was almost silly how the band name THE DOORS seemed to scare people before the movie and after the movie it bcame trendy. I hate Oliver Stone for this film (well, i don't care fro his films much as it is but this film killed me)

how are you posting if you died in 91?

Ian Astbury, who now sings for Riders on the Storm (21st Century Doors) was Oliver Stone's first choice to play Jim Morrison

Hey, am I onle one who are not Doors fan??? :D

What? The Doors are fantastic. One of the best bands ever.

Anyway, I hate to admit but I haven't seen the movie. I want to, though, being the classic rock fan that I am.

it's actually a nice movie, once you get over all the mental *********ions that Oliver Stone makes throughout the movie

I believe Manzarek said it was contemptible bulls***. I think, I heard.

Yes, he did, on many occassions. A rumor is he was kicked off the set, but thats not true.
