Alright, everyone. We know an R rated "Ultimate" director's cut is coming later this year. It seems like we'll be getting it in the summer.

What are your hopes and wishes for the home release? We are apparently getting 30 minutes of cut out footage. So far we know:

- Different opening sequence
- Extended fight scenes
- Extended ending
- Jena Malone's cut out role will be revealed and is apparently very important

What else do you guys want or expect to see? Personally, I hope Snyder takes the opportunity to re-cut the movie and maybe take some things out that weren't needed. I don't think that's likely to happen but its a pipe dream.

I would hope for a Kingdom of Heaven style fix.. such will not be the case unfortunately....

-I would drop the death of the Waynes...
-I would have Superman say something during the hearings
-change the order of a few scenes..."click his heels and go back to Kansas" is a good joke they didnt cash in on.
-something that shows Superman trying to defuse the fight with Batman
-less light show during the big doomsday fight (this isnt 90s Godzilla)
-Have some sort of closure to the "Superman is a danger" thread... Just comes off odd that suddenly everyone mourns Superman.. only the returning "military" characters seem supportive of Superman
-clarify or drop the "experimental bullets" thread.. were they experimental in that they were meant to be used against Superman?

It wont happen, im sure we will get added blood and a few broken bones instead...Just too many things to change..... the whole Batman v Superman fight is sold as a fight of ideology yet ultimately turns out to be a blackmail issue

Well I hope they don't take anything out because of an alternative option. I just want the following (some we already know we're getting):

- extended Lois in Africa scene
- more of Clark investigation the Bat
- Jena Malone's character's arc
- more of the fight between Batman and Superman

I thought the theatrical version felt way too long. Unless they re-cut a lot of the film, the extra 30 minutes will make it unbearable.

If it would make for a more sensible film I'd watch a 4 hour cut.

Yeah, Snyder should try to recut it. And personally would add more of:

- Clark investigating Batman
- Mercy
- Diana
- Lex's masterplan

Obviously don't know if these scenes exist...

INTERESTING! So they DID film a Clark Kent investigation scene then??

I definitely would LOVE a Clark Kent investigation scene. More of the Batman vs Superman fight. More daily Planet scenes. More Lois scenes. Hopefully, more of Diana too. Those additions would GREATLY improve the film for me.

whatever 3 hour whatever or something BvS originally was-- i want to see that.

i want everything fully reintegrated though, like the LOTR Extended Editions. not sure how that can be done given that Team Snyder would be very busy with JL, but yeah if its possible.

((( ARE YOU LISTENING WB?? GIVE US BvS EXTENDED EDITIONS :woot: )))

Well hopefully he'll get a George Lucas level editor to take a hammer to that theatrical cut and sculpt something beautiful and respectful looking out of it.

I find it odd people want stuff taken out but also added in. They want whole scenes removed ummm... no. Especially the beginning. I'll take that extra 30 minutes, the only edit I really want is no credits during the opening, that was very distracting.

I'm 85% sure the DC will be better than the TC. Snyder's Watchmen DC was far superior.

I'll be really surprised if WB continues with their current plan after this fiasco. I imagine Justice League will be postponed, Snyder taken off of it, and Affleck is brought in to do a solo Batman movie next.

And I'd expect the extended Blu-Ray to be released really quickly if the second week has a significant drop in numbers.

Thats not happening. They film in two weeks, Snyder's been doing interviews all over the place promoting Justice League and talking about the plan. It would be extremely embarassing to suddenly replace him. Could you imagine the interview questions the cast and new director would have to endure to explain Snyder's absence? It'd be a PR nightmare. Their best move is to let Snyder continue but heavily supervise him behind the scenes.

- More Clark Kent

- More Batman

- Batman v Superman fight should be longer...and better

- More time in the development of certain plot points

Definitely want to see any interactions between Clark and Bruce. The jump to Clark calling batman Bruce without clearly establishing that he knows is a bit jarring. Felt like a scene was missing. Hell even if he had called batman "Wayne" in the first encounter it would have been better. I want to see Clark learn about Bruce's loss before the battle. It will make him dropping the name Martha more organic at the end of the battle.

Dude, he knew that Bruce Wayne was Batman during the party thing at Lex Luthor's house. He heard him talking to Alfred. ;)

I think we definitely need to keep our expectations in check for this cut though. We're getting 30 extra minutes but a lot of it may end up being superfluous stuff thats not integral to the plot. Zack himself said "not much" of the Batman/ Superman story was cut.

How would talking to Alfred who calls him Bruce let Clark know he is batman....all it does is tell him there is more to Bruce than meets the eye.

Thought we could have a thread discussing the directors cut and what we could see and are likely to see.

Anybody have any set pics of scenes that weren't in the film? Off the top of my head I can only remember this

I actually think an extended cut would help the film a lot, the only issue I can see is that I doubt they cut any action therefore those who already thought action was lacking in the first hour may get even more bored. However, having a whole brand new quarter of a film inserted into the original is bound to change some minds.

What are you hoping for in the extended cut? Or just the Bluray in general.

Wasn't that portrait of Thomas Wayne in the building that came down in the Metropolis scene?

I definitely remember seeing it somewhere in the movie.

I want them to move the Knightmare Apokolips scene in the beginning before opening credits, which they won't....I might have to do it digitally when I get it....then add Superman action scenes at the desert....also add Batman action scenes on his first branding of criminals.

Is the extended cut on DVD also?? Or just Bluray??
