How do you think Iron Monger will end his presence in the film? Do you think he will die, be imprisoned, or get away? If he dies, do you think it will be in the same way as the comics (suicide by blasting his own head off)?

probably blow his head off or sacrifice itself i think it has something to do with that huge blast! (blue lightning):stark :yay:

If he blows his own head off, what would make him do that in the context of this film?

i don't know about the suicide thing. Looking at the trailers, iron mongers suicide might be a little too dark, sonidering what the movies over all feel and atmosphere.

I bet the movie is going to be darker than what the trailers will have us believe.

I think he will escape, because if they do decide to delve into the alcoholism in the sequel (assuming this one does well enough to get a sequel) I would hope it would be stane operating behind the scenes to drive him to it like in the comics.

^Or they could just use Justin Hammer.

Even if Stane dies in this movie, he could still influence Stark's alcoholism in the sequel. Favreau described Stane as being Stark's confidant, which implies that maybe Stane will betray him by becoming Iron Monger. This, coupled with Stane's death, could lead to Stark becoming an alcoholic in the sequel.

Iron Monger/Stane had BETTER die off in the movie, and he had better have a cool death!

I cannot STAND it when the main villain doesn't have a cool send off at the end of a movie...

ex-"Well guys...there you have it....after all of the cool action and story that has been happening over the last 1hr and 1/2...'villain' here is going to....jail!...That's right jail! Hope you learned your lesson 'villain!'" :whatever:

Bah I say! And none of this "Well what about the sequel?!" I am all for the villain dying off in the movie and if there are any other films to come out afterwards, here's an idea, focus on some other bad guy!

One of the best deaths for a bad guy was in True Lies...now THAT was a cool send off!

Hopefully Iron Man and Iron Monger are dukeing it out atop that building there in the trailer and Iron Man clocks him a few times and sends him off the building and then he explodes when he hits the ground! That would be sweet!

I think I'd prefer him blasting his own head off.

I seriously doubt that they will have him commit suicide. Besides, I want him in the sequel, and, hell, it's Jeff Bridges. He's gotta come back.

So I suppose you didn't like "No country for old men", right?

I Would prefer that Stark take energy from his chest gadjet (That keeps him alive) and blew Iron Monger.

Defeated, Stane blows his own head trying to runaway.

But i would't be sad if he came back.

Besides, how many fights do you tey'll have? I Go for one.

Just one fight, apparently. As long as it is nice and long, I'm fine with that.

I'd like it with Stane dies. Then we could move on to Mandarin :-)up:). Then again, it all depends on how I like Stane on film. Maybe Jeff Bridges will be such a great villain, that I'd actually hope for him to be in the sequel in some way.

Heyyyy easy with the spoilers just in case anyone hasn't seen that movie its the Iron Man Spoiler board not the No Country For Old Men spoiler board.

And even if the whole movie is good and the bad guy doesnt die off in the end it doesnt make it a bad movie persay...it just makes the movie jump from an 8 to a 10 is all imo. I find it a waste when the villain doesnt have a cool death. Because its not like an ongoing comic book series or anything, we wont get another issue next month...there is a sometimes 3 year wait between pictures PLUS there are so many damn villains in these worlds of superheros why not explore them? Who cares of the villain dies? It doesnt mean it affects the comic book Universe at all. I never understood why people ***** about all the Spider-Man villains or Batman villains dying....let 'em die! And let 'em die cool I say! :applaud

Btw ex. of a ****ty villain death

SPOILER

Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2....very boring. Also I didnt' agree with Goblins death in that he got stabbed in his damn balls. It was CLEARLY his balls and not his stomach..it was so ...'meh'. That Goblin Glider should have sent him flying through and a bigger deal should have been made out of it...you could have still had the 'Dont tell Harry...' line if it was so important.

I would say suicide, if only as a nod to the comics. It would kinda make sense for Stane to do that if he is apart of a larger conspiracy.

Seeing as Iron Monger is involved in the Mandarin's global scheme in the film, his death could be directly linked to the larger plotline. Maybe Stane does kill himself, but does so to make sure that Iron Man does not find out about the Mandarin's larger global plot. Or maybe he will be arrested, but killed by agents of the Mandarin to keep him quiet.

I know this is going to sound cliche but

The mark 3 could have fixed a serious glitch that the mark 1 had. When Stane uses the mark 1 sketches he doesn't know this. Ironman uses this advantage and defeats monger

While I am greatly looking forward to this film I cannot hope to pretend to be as well versed in the Iron Man lore as I am with Spider-Man so for me Stane's death will mean very little (I have read the Iron Man Wikipedia page but it's not the same as following a character, protagonist and antagonist, for a number of years and getting to know them.

If we examine the super hero films of the past 20 years the chances are Stane will die especially when the main event (the Mandarin) is the villain most if not all of us want to see. Fantastic Four and the X-Men are the only two comic franchises from Marvel where the main doesn't die....although they did suffer from repetitiousness so I guess you can't win. Then again killing Dr Doom or Magneto would have been like signing a death wish, Spider-Man it seems has more disposable villains.

I hope they don't do the expected thing of killing the villain in the end.

If anything, take a page from the mostly lacking X-Men movies and keep the villain alive.

I think he should die by his own hand just like in the comics, an intentional suicide rather than the accidental one that happened to GG in SM1. I'm only for following the comics when the comics actually have a good idea. In this instance, it is a good idea IMO for him to go out that way. Whether he does it because his ego won't allow him to admit that Tony beat him, or he's just the type that would never be willing to endure prison, or whether he's does it because he's more afraid of the Mandarin; we'll have to wait and see.
