The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs and Shaw

I definitely want Luke Evans in there as well since people brought up Mirren.

Set it apart from other buddy comedies especially when Hobbs' daughter would likely be in this.

I remember when the first trailer came out and Tej releases that wrecking ball that smashes into the cop cars. They didn't all survive that.

Right! I forgot all about that scene, and I only saw the movie last Saturday. They killed so many police officers. And like, in the climax when they kill a bunch of people it's kind of justified because they're bad guys anyway, but in that first heist those are just regular cops. They are literally laughing away as they slaughter police officers like it's GTA.

I wonder if they want to go for an R rating here? Go for that Deadpool money.

That'd be cool, it would definitely suit Statham's character.

To be fair, the movie makes it pretty clear that most of the Rio police were on the payroll of a drug lord. That's part of why Hobbs chose Elena to help him (despite her being relatively new to the police force, and relatively low ranking).

They weren't acting on his orders there though, they where reacting and giving chase to the break in at the police station, it could've been anyone.

Luke Evans needs to show up, with his fear of planes becoming a running gag.

They broke in to steal the massive amount of drug money that he had stored there. You cannot tell me that they missed that, it was A LOT of money.

True, but even if we consider the Rio police as bad guys there was still a ton of collateral damage surrounding the heist. Heck, even if the police weren't on the take it's not like the gang would have done anything different. It's been a while since I watched Fast Five, but I'm pretty sure that safe swung through at least one cafe.

In Fate of The Furious there's nothing to suggest the German police are anything but regular cops with loved ones waiting for them at home. Poor little Brunhilde won't get to see daddy tonight because he, his partner and like half his precinct were all squashed by some Loony Tunes level mayhem while Ludacris was cracking wise.

Heh heh heh :woot:

Fair enough. I guess that I've just seen enough action flicks over the years that I've become kind of numb to that idea. So many of them do it, you just kind of get used to it.

I definitely can't argue with the wrecking ball scene. That was straight up murder. This series has no hesitancy about collateral damage. How many people did Owen casually run over in the tank?

But this isn't about if Han deserved to die. It's so easily accepting his killer into the fold when he also tried to murder you the whole last movie.

My god, how are people watching these movies? And they make billions, than more movies. MY GOD!

Don't care about Evans but Statham, Mirren and The Rock were the highlights of the latest one and I'd definitely see standalone movie with these guys

Careful you may hurt yourself when you fall off that high horse.

They (we) watch them because we find them entertaining. Same reason anyone watches any movie.

The name sounds so cute! Like Calvin and Hobbs but on steroids and everyone is yelling all the time

The same reason Suicide Squad did so well last year and made a killing in home video sales despite bad reviews, people just like to watch an entertaining movie with fun characters. Not really much more to it.

The last one that I saw in the cinema was the original.
So, It's not on me.

Movies are an escape. You go see these things to have fun. Well, the ones that aren't docudramas or biographies.

Hobbs and Shaw were the best parts of fast8. I'm definitely up for a spin off movie

Yeah, I understand that. But I don't understand how anyone find this movies entertaining. But this is just me. I am sure I find some movie entertaining while others wander the same about me. Circle of movie nerd life.

This is a tale of redemption and comradery and you damn well ****ing better learn to like it.

Sigh.. we'll see.

They had better clarify just what happened to Han and his apparent demise.

"Cipher set us against each other, she's the real evil here" There you go, done.

And lets face it, Deckard is a more interesting character, played by a more interesting actor who doesn't just stand around looking mopey and eating chips.

The only downside to Cipher coming back is that we'll get more over the top hacking nonsense. I liked her because she raised the stakes significantly but I could have done without the keyboard hopping.

.
and Palpatine is the reason why young Luke got to the dark side. when i was younger and i was reading/watching about the making of movies they made it very clear. Some bad guys/villains can never come back on the good side. Because they did to many terrible things, they killed to many innocent people. What they could do is have them save someone and die. Vader got redemption but he could never stand next to the group and smile
