The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

Personally, I won't mind if Marvel trades the TV show rights and merchandising for X-Men to Fox in exchange of the entire library of FF. I think it will be a mutually beneficiary move for both sides, and it will help Marvel and Fox to expand their own cinematic universe for many years to come.

I'd agree. Let Fox really build something with it. And I don't think the X-Men are as important to the Marvel Universe as Galactus etc.

But Marvel seems determined to try to get everything and not give anything up. Their strategy may be to wait Fox out on FF and assume they'll give up eventually and then they won't give anything up. And then without merchandising or TV rights, at some point X-Men might also be no longer worth holding on to.

But yeah, I'd give them that trade if I were Marvel.

Marvel might have many other characters, but they're not the same as Surfer, Galactus and Doom and don't hold the same weight. And I want to see the proper Reed Richards in the MCU. Not some boy who looks like he would've been better as Ducktor Doom.

I don't know what Marvel will offer for the FF character rights after FFINO leaves theaters. I do know that the offer will be lower than the one Ike made a year and a half ago.

That's what I'm afraid of. This film bombs. Marvel says: "Ha! We've got them now. " They make a low-ball offer. Fox laughs it off. Then 7 years from now we go through this all over again.

Marvel should bundle every New Universe comic's film rights and get their best negotiators to convince Fox to trade this one property for multiple potential franchises. New Universe isn't Marvel continuity anyway, and there's virtually no chance of Disney doing those in film. Let Fox have them.

If it were a choice between X-men and Fantastic Four then I'd always go with X-men. Though Fox would seriously have to ruin that franchise to the point it's not worth their while.

X-Men can fit in their own little pocket universe without the rest of the MCU. The FF need to be with everyone else and ought to be done right for once.

Right now, with spin-off movies like Deadpool and Gambit being launched, it will have to take a colossal failure for every X-Men movies being released in order for Fox to even take a pause, and even then they will probably just reboot everything instead of negotiating a deal with Marvel anyway. I won't be surprised of Fox keeps the X-Men rights for the next 50 years.

100% agreed.

Accidentally posted this in another thread, but this belongs here...

Jamie Bell is 5'7", maybe weighs 180 pounds, but he's the "muscle". That is an odd choice.

I doubt he's over a buck fifty.

It's such a cringeworthy moment in those trailers. One of many.

They used the disappearing tank in the preview, haha. I'm starting to wonder if we've already seen all the sfx money shots.

Am I the only one that can't stand Reed whimpering "Please don't blow up... Please don't blow up" in the released clip? As if Reed would have so little confidence in his work and frivolously risk everyone's lives in the process.

From what I've heard, this Reed Richard isn't even the smartest person in the story. Then again, this is why it's FFINO.

Reed is the smartest person on the team, except for Sue, Johnny and Ben.

Ya, I mean at this point with Marvel poised to make a big deal out of the Inhumans in the coming years they already have their replacements for the Xmen lined up.

I was watching the extended clip and I thought about asking you guys: Have ya'll noticed that young Reed from the first trailer looks a little different than young Reed from the recent trailers? And that Sue seems to be wearing a wig or a hair extensions in the recent trailers when she wasn't in the first?

Can ya'll confirm for me what that's about? I have my suspicions, but I'd like to hear from ya'll.

She is wearing a wig. They had to do months of reshoots on this film from January until early May and she'd already changed her hair for another film. Any scenes with the wig were reshoots scenes.

Is that why young Reed looks slightly different in the new trailers or is that just my imagination? The entire tone of the recent trailers seem completely different from the first one. How much of the film did they reshoot?

While on the topic of him, I will say the one thing that I thought looked alright was that kid. He seemed to be doing a pretty decent job.

I just read something that literally cements this as a horrible reboot. Fox has really butchered a great character if true

Apparently Ben learns how to change back into his human state. That's right, the Thing has been turned into the Hulk.

Source of the info?
