Wow, I've seen a ton of really good films so far this year. This is tough.

Still haven't seen Apes or Baby Driver. I suspect one of them will bump Get Out.

In no particular order Get Out, Baby Driver, Dunkirk, John Wick 2, and War for the Planet of the Apes.

For real though this has been one of the most jam packed movie years in my memory.

I see a lot of movies every years but I've even going nearly weekly on average. Better yet I've liked almost everything I very seen even after 20 movies. A few of those were screenings of older movies but still it's been great. Besides those 5, I've really enjoyed movies like Logan, Kong Skull Island, Lost City of Z, Raw, Colossal, It Comes at Night, Spiderman, Guardians 2. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed Split. January also brought Scorsese's silence.

Even some movies I've liked less like Great Wall and Power Rangers managed to be kind of odd and interesting.

One of the only movies I've seen that I actively disliked was Alien Covenant.

Crazy, crazy year. I think it says a lot that almost every movie site ran best of lists at the halfway mark.
