The Flash 5x21 "The Girl with the Red Lightning

Is everyone as confused as me? How did she get the dagger and how would destroying it be a bad thing?

 

Bigger question is what is the point of this season other then thawnes side story? I dont know how destroying it would be a bad thing ethier. Kind of silly a prison would use the dagger too.

Easily the worse villain in series with cicada both male and female.

 

Like there wasnt even any build up really for thawne plan. Cicada was done like half way through, then daughter cicada comes around and doesnt do anything until now, then thawne has a plan out of nowhere even though we knew something would happen with him

This season is just down right awful. Cicada was the easiest villain to kill in the world. Some old guy that cant fight. So now they're just gonna end this season on a huge cliffhanger for thawnes plan? the ONLY interesting part about the whole season?

 

Not to mention now cicada 2 can somehow use dark matter to create whips and jump around a room. Bit somehow still has daggers?

 

I bet Team Flash wish they listened to Ralph now...

 

I'm alright with the episode as a whole. The parts with Joe and Cecile were a bit of a yawn. Sherluc and his Meta-girl were better. Good idea sending her to another world.

I imagine we'll find out how Grace got her powers - and maybe learn why she wasn't using them ever since she arrived...

The fight scene in CCPD is where it lost me for a bit. She was down, right? Unconscious. Asleep. Unmoving. Why the hell didn't they tie her up?! Or do something other than simply stare at her!!

C'mon Frost, don't freeze the partition between her and the device - freeze her!

Barry, quick! Grab her and run her into the Meta-Prison under Star Labs! When she wakes up in a few seconds she'll be contained.

Wait Vibe, you can't Vibe it because of the dampening field around it. Quick, get the little pocket-vibe like Sherluc has been using and use that!

Look, a dozen police officers staring at Shecada like idiots. Hey Joe, how about telling them all to freakin' fire?!

But okay. Despite the three ways from Sunday they could have beat her at that moment...

Was that the knife inside Thrawn in the future? So I guess, if it is being used to dampen his powers, then destroying it in the past will make it disappear so he'll be set free? I'm thinking that's going to happen.

Man, even though I like this show, their ability to leave Mack-truck sized holes in their logic-trees is phenomenal.

 

I was expecting Renee to get killed while she and Sherloque were saying good bye since they were taking too long.

Of course no one listens to Ralph when he's dropping good questions/knowledge.

I don't understand why the dagger would be used against Eobard in the future. Don't they already have other ways to dampen powers?

 

I was too. Like right when the portal was about to close I was expecting the dagger to come whizzing through the scene.

And yes, they do have ways to dampen meta-powers. I hope they have a good reason for the dagger being used instead.

 

This "stepping into another world to hide" is an interesting concept.

First off, you have no home or personal effects there. Would your currency work? Would your credit card at a hotel? Would your cell phone work there?

 

It's a temporary measure, and he did say he'd have a friend meet her to help.

 

I can see how this will probably all play out but I could be wrong too.

grace/cicada is from the future in nora's timeline, she never had a dagger like her uncles to begin with.

Thawne is always steps ahead, he's calculated and makes moves/decisions like pieces on a chess board. My guess is thawne through his experience with time travel stole the dagger from another timeline and strapped it to his chest, hoping that if he could convince nora to convince her dad to use his plan that when they blasted the dagger in flash's timeline it affected the one on thawnes chest, which ultimately will likely send the dagger/thawne into another timeline or earth, therefore thawne escaping extinction/prison.

I assume once he's out of the prison he'd get his speed back and be fine.....so his plan all along was to manipulate nora for his master plan. In some ways thawne does have "feelings" but that doesn't mean he won't manipulate someone to gain trust for another reason, he did it with barry and nora should not be a surprise.

Also seemed like when nora tapped into the negative speedforce she was more powerful speedster, you would think tapping into the positive speedforce would make you more powerful like it did to barry when he stayed in there...when he came back they mentioned how no speedster has ever gone that fast when he saved iris from the samuroid (and I doubt barry was even going the max).

So thawne should be quite abit slower than barry now, simply because in terms of villains and who's the fastest, I rank them like this savitar, zoom, RF, Godspeed, and the Rival....so if barry is faster than savitar than he basically should fairly easily outrun thawne.

The only advantage is if thawne had tachyon enhancements on him then he'd have the extra speed.

I would say RF and zoom are probably around the same with no V9 or tachyon devices, Godspeed in the show couldn't even catch Nora so he's nowhere close to being faster than RF, zoom or any other villain except the Rival, which I put last.

Also as a sidenote godspeeds lightning color being white means absolutely nothing, they said it was because he changed one of the elements in his version of V9 which altered the lightining color, instead of blue like zooms his changed to white....it has no barring on who's the more powerful speedster....though I'd assume a pure source of the speedforce like barry has (at least in the comics) would go without saying who's the more powerful speedster.

 

I hope Barry's petty af next episode lol, everbody else wanted to give Thawne a chance but him and he was sort of forced in to it.
