The Flash 5x22 "Legacy" (Season finale)

After the umpteenth million time they needed vibe powers to defeat a big bad, Cisco gives them up.

Makes perfect sense.

 

thats because the writers have made thawne faster than barry, its ridiculous.

ya in the first few seasons thawne would be faster, but then thats implying that thawne is faster than zoom, and savitar, when you go back to those villains the writers always hinted who's faster, first it was wells/thawne RF, then zoom was barry's next fastest enemy, then even faster was savitar, and what doesn't make sense is barry has grown and gotten more powerful over the seasons, even jay garrick commented that barry was powerful speedster and still not at his true potential.

then real big hole in this is when barry stayed in the speedforce and came out when he saved iris from samuroid, he was claimed as being the fastest speedster ever...it was wally that said he'd never gone that fast and the rest commented that no speedster has.

So how is it possible that barry couldn't easily catch thawne, based on the writers and inconsistencies with who's the fastest, barry should be way faster than thawne now but in the finale thawne easily took on nora and barry, it took the whole friggen team to bring him down....barry looked like season 1 or 2 powerwise, not the fastest man alive, thawne took both them out rather easily...its pitiful.

they can't say the longer you've been a speedster the powerful you are because jay garrick was the first and he's less powerful than wally needless to say barry...i know they didnt have to make it look super easy for barry to defeat thawne in terms of using speed, but there could've been other ways the fight could've been competitive but at least showing barry is way faster than thawne because he should be based on the the villains and things mentioned throughout the series.

 

It's amazing how well written thawne is compared to literally every other aspect of the show

 

The show got its mojo back for the last few episodes. The Cicadas lacked the threat of some of the other villains, but they eventually took a back seat to the Nora and Thawne storylines, which made events very interesting again leading up to COIE.

I'm really going to miss Nora. JPK was simply outstanding this season. I realize that having other speedsters supporting Barry creates huge problems for the writers, but I hope that before this series calls it quits, we see all of the hero speedsters fighting side-by-side in some massive battle.

 

The team's insistence on "getting consent" from people to remove their powers broke the camel's back for me. I can't deal with dumb logic like that.

"Let's get consent to take away the powers of the mass murderer who's using said powers to mass murder people".

Sigh...

What a big step up for the finale

Reverse Flash's plan finally playing out and being revealed was god damn awesome. Tom's delivery of the line "She's shown me what its like to have a daughter" was more comic book villain brilliance, Thawne's now taken Barry's mother and daughter from him. Can't wait to see what there dynamic is like next season.

Credit to JPK she really sold that she was vanishing and made me really feel like I was gonna miss her character.

 

Very lukewarm finale to an overall filler season. No one grew, no one made sense. This show is sinking hard.

 

I really didn't know much about her before her work in this role, but I'm seriously impressed. Her disintegration scene was genuinely moving.

 

My jaw about hit the floor when I found out she was 34.
