The Flash "The Flash" Casts Victor Garber as Firestorm's Dr. Stein

Awesome! Garber is a great actor and I can totally see him as Stein.

I really don't understand how they're going to do this thing and make it work.

What do you mean? Make Firestorm work? I'm guessing they'll deviate a bit here and just have Ronnie be Firestorm with Stein as more of a mentor figure. As cool as the dual personality thing is, that would be pretty hard to pull off in a TV series.

Both actors are supposed to be regular recurring characters at practically the exact same time, and Stein's character description says that he's going to be actively seeking to find a way to separate himself from Ronnie.

Trying to have both characters appear while they're fused into a single entity seems like it's going to be way too confusing and convoluted.

I don't see why. It's always worked fine in the comics.

Got damn, the casting on this show...

Yeah. I'd argue that that the Ronnie/Stein meld could be even more effective in live-action than in the comics.

As for Firestorm's powers (and The Atom's), we're just going to have to accept the best the WB can do. I'm just grateful to see the characters.

F^&*( YEAH!! Dude is this show on the MARK!!
this FIRESTORM &*()has got me about me about to bust a gasket! i really thought it would just be Robbie Amell just as a normal Ronnie Raymond, but its looks like they going full FIRESTORM!!(love that guy!!)
Zoom, Grodd, freakin Crisis and its only the 1st show!!

Stein's character description specifically mentions him searching for a way to facilitate a separation from Ronnie, and with both Victor and Robbie scheduled to have significant recurring roles, there are logistical issues that you're not going to have in a comic book and which, at first blush, seem as if they're going to make things confusing and convoluted, particularly since Victor isn't scheduled to make his first appearance until Episode 12 whereas Robbie will be making his first appearance in Episode 3.

Hey, here's an idea. Why don't you wait and see how it plays out before declaring it a disaster?

I'm not declaring it a "disaster"; I'm stating that I can't see how it's going to work given what we currently know, and expressing an opinion that it seems, again based on what we know, as if it's going to be confusing and convoluted.

Pffft... Where do you think we are right now? Some sort of colony of rational human beings? :o

Garber's a great actor. This series has attracted actors who I never thought would be on a CW show.

i knew they'd cast this dude in something.

we need to pay attention to the voice avtors from the animated DC projects. Garber voiced Sinestro.

I can see Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion showing up in this universe soon

Tell me more. Will Robbie be appearing as Firestorm in Episode 3? Will he be in the current day, or in Flashbacks to the accident? If in the present day, will Dr. Stein be visible/audible to the audience, or will Firestorm, (if Robbie appears as Firestorm in his first appearance) just seem crazy?

What logistical problems are you seeing, because Victor appearing in episode 12 trying to separate them and Robbie appearing in Episode 3 without him just says that Robbie won't be fused/Firestorm in Episode 3. It seems really simple to me. What am I missing?

If Raymond and Stein are fused together (which will have happened when the particle accelerator exploded 9 months ago) and Stein won't be showing up until Episode 12 - at which point his search for a way to separate himself from Raymond will start - there's no way that Stein and Raymond can both appear at the same time without things getting confusing and convoluted.

What do you mean appear at the same time. You mean if Stein is like a disembodied voice, or even a visual person standing next to Firestorm that only he can see, that in such a case, it will be confusing and convoluted? Because a very similar scenario just happened on Arrow with Slade and Shado, and no one was confused that there is this person in Slade's head that only he can see.

Also, if they don't appear standing side by side in a flashback to the particle accelerator explosion, then they kinda fail at showing Firestorm's origin.

By the time Stein appears, Ronnie will have appeared for 9 episodes, and it would be confusing and convoluted to suddenly have him appearing only as a 'hallucination' once Stein shows up.

Holy ****, the casting for this DCCW Universe has been so on point. This casting greatly brings me joy. :D

^It has. They need to up their writing game to keep up with the talent levels that keep coming in.

Ronnie isn't going to be in episodes 4-11 as far as we know. Also, wouldn't Stein be the hallucination, like the comics? Ronnie is Firestorm, Stein is the thing only Firestorm can see.

Its going to be fun to watch this play out.
I am glad that Victor is onboard.
Great actor.
