Arnold Schwarzenegger's reps declined to comment last week for our story that the former California Governor may be doing an animated series with producer Andy Heyward based on a superhero character created in partnership with comic book icon Stan Lee. Well, that's probably because they were in the process of booking the cover of Entertainment Weekly to unveil the new character. Called The Governator, it is a version of Schwarzenegger after he has left the Governor's office and becomes a crime fighter, Lee told EW. The Governator will run operations out of a secret high-tech crime-fighting center (aka Arnold Cave) under his house in Brentwood and will have a fleet of super vehicles and a closet full of “Super Suits” at his disposal. He will be surrounded by a gallery of sidekicks, including a 13-year-old computer whiz, and supervillains, including G.I.R.L.I.E Men, named after another Arnold-ism.

Schwarzenegger let news of the Governator slip a couple of weeks ago in an interview with a fan site, in which he said: "I am packaging a comic book character right now. I'm going to announce that sometime at the end of March or the beginning of April." Schwarzenegger is slated to unveil the animated series in a press conference at MIPTV on April 4.

Okay, I gotta see this.

Lol, I will definitely check this out though my hopes aren't very high for it.

haha sounds funny definately will check it out if it happens.

The GIRLIE. Men part kills me! HAHA Definitely gonna be checking this out. Hopefully it's written intelligently and ends up actually being more funny than trying to be a real super hero cartoon

Early April Fools joke? I hope not cause I will watch this.

Interesting, I've seen some negative reactions towards this and that left me scratching my head. I think that if they pour on the satire and do it right, it could be hilarious!

Wow, trailer's out already! And I gotta say, looks pretty good!

Woah, the animation is awesome quality. I just hope it doesn't get too cheesy and take itself too seriously.

The trailer was posted on April 1st. This has to be some kind of April Fools joke.

I really like the tongue-in-cheek quality of this. It also reminds me of the cartoons from the 80s and 90s when I was growing up, so it's hitting a nostalgia button.

:wow::wow:

That has got to be one of the MOST embarrasing things I have ever seen... I'm actually a little speechless.

Thanks for trying to drag everybody back to the 80's Mr Lee.

Reminds me of that godawful (but fun as a kid in the 90's) Hulk Hogan animated series.

The movie was announced today. Now we just need a Video Game based on the movie & then another Video Game based on the actual Cartoon. Followed by a Comic Book Series & Action Figures then Arnold is set

This looks absolutely amazing!

I just cant help but not be interested in this..... like, at all. :o

I wonder if Maria Shriver and his kids will actually star in the movie, or will they get someone else to play them? I see this could have some elements of True Lies if he's lying to his wife about what he's up to and pretending to settle down to a quiet life after his term as governor.

I would've liked to have seen a True Lies sequel. That's my favourite Arnie movie. He should forget about any remakes of Predator or the Running Man.

I still can't believe all this **** is real. I feel like I'm having some sort of mad, feverish dream.

what was that old show called? Chuck Norris Power Hour? or somehting like that? haha I hope they play this as a parody of those stupid shows.

why would they rush out a short cartoon trailer after they told the public weeks ago?

this trailer has to be a april fools joke.

Why do people think that this is an April fools day joke? I mean they simply could have had this reel ready to go and honestly announced everything seperately from the reel debuting.

I think Governator does have shades of Iron Man in its conception, mixed in with James Bond.
