TV Wasteland: The Greatest American Hero Flies Again, or Not.

Icons of retro television continue to pour onto the sets of the NBC hit Heroes. Last season, Nichele Nichols from Star Trek: The Original Series appeared on Heroes in a small William Kattrole along with George Takei, and Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner). and this year William Katt - best known as the hero from the 80s TV series The Greatest American Hero - is coming to the series. He wont dawning the cape and tights and crash landing into big bushes this time around though. Hes playing a seedy reporter hot on the trail of Nikki, who apparently doesnt die from the explosion that ended season two. The fact that Nikki survives could be considered a spoiler but realistically did anyone think she was dead? Newsarama is featuring an interview with Katt where he says:
I just filmed it last week. I play a really, really wonderful, seedy, smarmy-mouthed reporter that goes after Ali Larter. It was a lot of fun.
Katt goes on to say that Heroes is more Hitchcockian than his early series and it offers a much darker look at the world of super heroes much like modern comic books. Finally, the comments that there are a lot of twists yet to come, as if we werent expecting that. It appears that his character may only be in a single episode of Heroes. Katt is staying busy though, now owning his own comic book company and sitting in the middle of buzz about a theatrical version of The Greatest American Hero.
This is a fairly bleak week for interesting television, especially with Battlestar Galactica over. This third episode of Fear Itself is supposed to be the best of the first three made so itll be interesting to see if it lives up to the hype around it. At least the AFI Top 10 special features Sci-fi and fantasy films in the list.

Too bad William Katt not wearing the suit and there's some spoiler in it, so read at your own risk
