I mean, on one hand yes. On the other hand....the Cult of Thorne stuff is as ridiculous as anything they did with Jason. They made a cult that had Michael have a baby with his niece and depending on what cut you watch, you control him with runes. That's wild and ridiculous garbage
Oh yeah, all that stuff in 6 was the lowest point in the series along with the opening of Resurrection. 4 was meh but otherwise still watchable, 5 was boring when it wasn't outright bad but 6 felt like an absolute waste of time. I was only going to watch the Thorn trilogy timeline this Halloween season but after watching it I felt the need to keep going just for a palate cleanse.

I remember watching Resurrection with my siblings and cousins for movie night after H20 and hating that opening.

Something about Michael succeeding in killing Laurie bothers me to no end but it still wasn't nearly as stupid as the retcon that revealed she killed the wrong person at the end of H20.

Jason in space also much more watchable than Busta Rhymes kicking Michael Myers in the face
Agreed, if only because you're checking your brain at the door for Jason X compared to something that was at least intended to be more grounded with Resurrection.

My favorite thing is they bring in Josh Hartnett as Laurie's son and you'd think he would be Michael's next target, but nope he vanished.

Either that or the producers saw that Hartnett was a new Hollywood It boy at the time after Pearl Harbor and realized they couldn't afford him.

He was the main protagonist in the Halloween Retribution script. It was gonna follow up Resurrection directly (with Busta Rymes coming back to get killed by Michael in brutal fashion).

I will say that 2018 despite having much more gruesome deaths, understood not to actually show their deaths for the most part.
