I think Sutherland was the right choice for President Snow the only person that I could've seen if it wasn't Sutherland was Malcolm Mcdowell

ET previewed some new scenes that will be in the new trailer on Sunday. Looks great!

Also, in Entertainment Weekly, director Gary Ross says Donald Sutherland emailed him and begged to play President Snow. Gary says Sutherland was so enthusiastic about the part that he wrote 2 brand new scenes for him that weren't in the book. Exciting!

Hehe... I'll pass on this trailer. This close to release I like avoid hype for fear they will show too much. I like to go into the theater not knowing everything to expect. Preserves my sense of wonder.

Good trailer, I like that it was mostly new footage and I really love that they have not shown much of the actual games.

Good trailer, way too short.

That's nothing more than a shorter version of the trailer they dropped months ago.

No, there's a ton of stuff there that wasn't in the first trailer.

But this looks like a Superbowl spot and not an actual trailer. Is there an actual full second trailer coming?

Nice trailer, and I think it is smart for them to hide the action scenes at the end, so audience has something to look forward to.
you think the general public will go and watch this movie because they like the first half of the movie before the action starts? because based on teh spot and previous traielr they dont know that there is any action.

i think this was just a long superbowl spot. a new 2 minute trailer will be realesed.

p.s: i like that they got rid of that cliche cheap looking blue.

Just finished the second book on to the third, this cast looks great Jennifer isnt exactly what i pictured but shes a good actress so no worries there, Josh and Liam are perfect casting they're exactly how i pictured Peeta and Gale. When reading I thought of cinna as being around 25 yrs old (do they say how old he is in the books?)but I really like the idea of Lenny playing him and glad to see Stanly Tucci in this as well. I actually would have like to have seen someone else as Haymitch however I guess I can see Woody in the role. Looked up the people playing the "careers" and a few of them hopefully have bulked up for the film alittle as they looked slimmer than Jenn and Josh.

Possible casting choice for Finnick in the next film- Kellan Lutz however im sure that would upset alot since he was in Twilight, but i think he would be a pretty good casting choice.

Lutz can't act. He'll stand out like a sore thumb when he's in all these scenes against Lawerence and Hutcherson who can.

Why is that surprising??? Stanley Tucci is a rare and underrated talent. I have seldom seen him in a movie where I didn't think his performance was exceptional. In my book, Stanley Tucci is right there with the late J.T. Walsh, James Cromwell, Luis Guzman and David Morse as the best character actors in the business. He is the type of actor that elevates small roles into outstanding performances, sometimes stealing the show but always contributing to a films quality in a very real way.

In fact, I was beginning despair that the Hunger Games was going to be just another teeny movie until they added Tucci, Harrelson and Banks. Once those three joined the cast I was sure The Hunger Games was going to be something special.

i totally agree

i actually meant more the character than tucci. ceasar wasn't that big a deal to me reading it, but i think tucci will make him memorable for sure

Catching Fire is filming this summer for release Fall 2013. Writing is in process and the cast and crew are all signed up. JL says they will start filming in July in Hawaii.

I assume you are looking for news about who are being cast as former Hunger Game winning tributes? Nothing new there as far as I know.

i remember reading (or maybe it was one of her tweets) that Naya Rivera was really interested in the Johanna role

better him than pettyfer, whose name is thrown around for every YA book adaptation it seems

edit; but i don't want either

^^ I'm sure there are a lot of other well qualified actors in Fennic's age range. Wasn't he like early 20's.

Not defending his acting as I have only seen him in Twilight where he has so little to do he cant help but be decent but In this case all he would have to do is be himself because from the interviews i have seen him do and reading the character in catching fire they seem like the same person he couldnt possibly go wrong (unless hes that bad).

And how old was Johanna in the book I thought she was older than Naya, no?

Our first book deviation. Poor Madge. But obviously nothing to gripe about.

The removal of Madge is whatever. This makes the bond between Katniss and Prim that much more stronger.

I agree this new "trailer" is too short but it is intended for the Superbowl pre-game show anyway. I'd expect a new (and final) full length trailer beginning of March.

tons of new Photos:

This movie looks weird as hell but Lawrence already seems to have nailed the emotional parts. I was choking up a bit when she was separated from Prim.

i like the weird scifi clothes and colors. it reminds me on the 80's scifi movies.

Paula Malcolmson.

i will be honest i did'nt like that 1 min trailer or Superbowl spot

it is full of sappy hugging and crying no one wants to see that

it needed to show some action, some suspense

imo both trailers have been very underwhelming because they are doing a horrible job getting the intrest of non book readers they are too geared towards the book fans who are gonna see it regardless

Well I think that the majority of the target demo has read the books. The other part of the target demo wants to watch the movie because everyone says the book is good but don't want to spoil the movie. Finally the last part of the demo will see it because it comes out the final weekend of Spring Break so everyone will be coming back from vacation and what else is there to do? I don't think action in the trailer will change anyone's mind at this point.

who would see a movie because people say book is good lol

i have hear just as many people say the books are just alright and very overrated
