Well, we all belong to a message board so appropriately labeled SuperheroHYPE ...

What I'm asking you, the fans of Batman, is which movie, being Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, are you more hyped for? No answer is right or wrong, I just would like to know because things like that intrigue me.

Batman Begins had massive amounts of hype. But it was a huge push from a small population or segmentation. I.E. dying batman film fans, comic book enthusiasts, and hardcore character fans. No one from the general audiences was fully aware, and if they were, they associated it with the two previous pieces of crap, so it had to make a hurdle to erase the popular consensus that it would suck.

The enthusiasts (which most of us are) were really pumped for Begins. For one, it was the first Batman movie in 7 years. Second of all, it was promised to be a re-start and to kick off with Batman's very origins. It would be a dark, serious, and realistic take on the Batman legend. And the icing on the cake came when the overwhelming fan favorite was cast as the lead role. Fans were at a frenzy pitch, even those who read the entire script.

The Dark Knight has a growing amount of hype as well. We know the general public is now interested, and we're getting a more classic version of the character and mythos in TDK, as we start to see the regulars and more epic portions of the Batman legend unfold on screen. The Joker enters the fray as does Harvey Dent, the building of characters and story arcs based off a FANTASTIC first outing, and the mysterious and sketchy knowledge of what this movie's story will be about are driving most of crazy.

So in your opinion, which movie will have more hype? And which movie are you most excited about?

TDK, simply because it's following Batman Begins, where as that movie had to follow Batman and Robin. The sour taste of the Batman franchise is gone

Definitely TDK ... Like Batmatt said...TDK is the sequel to a great batman movie, and is under the pressure to match the qulity of the 1st film. So its under the microscope more than batman begins.

I'd definetly have to say TDK. You have so much development going on and everyone wants to see how the character of bruce wayne/batman will be developed and evolve. You also have the introduction on re-interpritation of two of the greatest villians of the Batman series with the Joker and Harvey Dent/Two-face. I think, no wait i know just from reading these boards everyone is extremely curious how the writers and directors and the actors will portray these great characters! Personally I think it's gonna be amazing.

TDK does sound much richer in story. Not that the first one didn't, but it was pretty much Year One mixed with various already known Origin elements. TDK sounds innovative, fresh, and new. And for the first time, we are getting a Batman story set in a setting with characters we already know, and a look that makes them feel the same, which will make the movie a TRUE continuation. TDK has the chance to be the first GREAT Batman sequel, and probably the only Batman sequel thus far which would be a bigger success both financially and critically than its predecessor.

When I was in line for 300, I remember all my schools football players were like "This is the last time for a year that I am standing in line for a midnight showing....... the next time will be when ****ing Dark Knight comes out- pound my hand guys."

Then they beat me up and took my lunch money. :csad:

I'm definitely more hyped for TDK. I didn't follow the BB production too much, and took a cautiously optimistic "wait and see" attitude, but after I saw the trailer, and especially when the film came out and read the reviews, I was hooked.

I am hoping that the dynamic between BB and TDK is comparable to seeing Alien and Aliens The Director's Cut for the first time. :yay:

dark knight because i know it can be good.with begins i wasnt that hyped at all after seeing the suit and batmobile.my mistake

THE DARK KNIGHT. The Batman franchise is back in its prime.

Definitely The Dark Knight. Even non-comic book fans are hyped for this movie, wasn't like that with Batman Begins, many thought it was just another Batman sequel and after Batman & Robin, they weren't very interested in the pic.

Well to Returns was a great film, also i believe Forever was more financially sucessful than Returns lol.

The Dark Knight-I'm interested in seeing a new take on Joker (Much as I love his Penguin and Catwoman, Tim Burton's Joker just wasn't my cup of tea), plus a fleshed out story for Dent, and hopefully spankin' fleshy prosthetics, if he's scarred in this one.

Forever was a step down in quality, as was Batman Returns. Returns also made significantly less money. TDK has the opportunity to be the first film to pass its predecessor in everyway, at the same time.

Smell me?

I thought Returns was the best out of the four... until BB came along.
