Any Hype members are welcome to join us in our viewing of these shows. We will be using this thread to discuss our shows.

The only rules are

  • Last week of the month we will nominate and vote for a new show.
  • Only shows with unanimous vote will be selected.
  • Only the first season is required for the monthly viewing. If a show has multiple seasons.
  • Each show should have a minimum of 8 episodes per season, if not, we will watch S1&2.
  • ALL spoilers must be tagged as such, as none of us have seen these shows before aka don't be a jerk.
  • Any posts not following the spoiler rule will be subject to deletion.

In this thread we will be talking about our viewing experiences with the show. You all are welcome to join, so we'll talk about what we like and/or dislike about the show we're watching.

So let's watch some Pushing Daisies!

What is Pushing Daisies?
A pastry chef with the power to bring dead people back to life solves murder mysteries with his resurrected childhood sweetheart, a cynical private investigator, and a lovesick waitress.

Haha, zany concept. Is this a comedy or played straight?

I want a big slice of Dutch apple pie...... or some strawberry rhubarb which I haven't had in AGES! *drools* Pumkin, sweet potato. Peach, pecan...... :-)
I'll take that with a slice of Pace.

This show is just as delightful as I remember. Oh how I missed this Pie Maker! And Olive. I'd forgotten how much I also missed Emerson Cod, though. He's just wonderful.

What makes this show is this wonderful cast. :) Even the narrator is perfect.
Jim Dale! The amazing voice of all the Harry Potter audiobooks. I’m glad that I also know him from this show so that I don’t just know him from something tainted by creator awfulness lol.

I keep being summoned in the banner... who do I have to save now?

With @squeekness done Pushing Daisies and the end of the month just a week away, I think the moment has arrived for me to make my nomination for March:

Next month, I turn 35 and I would love for us to celebrate by watching one of my favourite shows of all time and possibly the greatest food porn put to celluloid. This is the real deal, the real chefs, that inspired everything from last year's
The Menu to The Bear.

Who is ready to journey into the depths of obsession? Very, very tasty obsession! @InCali? @MissMarvelous?

But will people get in a big fight and yell at each other?

Will it make me stop wanting to eat pie? :p

It's a show about the pressures of fine dining restaurants... Of course there is yelling!
Doesn't sound like my kind of show... unless they murder each other at the end. :p

Kinda, because you will start craving tortellini, salmon, fire grilled Argentinian short ribs, air balloons made of candy, the most perfect carrots, raman, fried chicken, and the most beautiful bread instead...

Until you get to the Christina Tosi episode and you learn about "Crack Pie"...

And then all you will ever want ever again is Crack Pie.*

*It is now officially called Milk Bar Pie, but the original name better conveys its addictiveness.
