right from the beggining this sucked! its funny how EVERYONE that reviewed this somehow puts in that phrase "i wanted to like this, but..." cause now fellas, i understand! Raimi didnt even TRY to tell a good story like we experienced in the first two, sad....
even the voice-overs that start the movie of Tobey sounded lame, gee and Tobey makes the most FUGLY faces and calls it acting by the way.....Kirsten Dunst actually looked quite nice to start off the movie all done up(too bad that goes downhill, progressively...) their 'love moments' are lame, the 'black goo' just falls(yes just falls from the sky) near Peter and crawls on him VIOLA! the symbiote is here!!! lame!
they try too hard to force on us that Sandman 'had no choice' to be a wanted criminal, he wanted to 'save his daughter', HEY BUDDY, how about getting a job with benefits and family insurance like the next regular joe! and his 'transformation' scene is another writing blunder, he just happens to fall into a pit of sand conviently when a experiment is being conducted[insert cool CGI here]....what luck!!! there are no good setups in the movie like we had previously with how Goblin came to be or how Doc Ock (brilliantly) was born, WHY JUST GIVE US FLUFF NOW!!?!? u were doing it right with the first two, this just seems thrown together, and, sadly, this is just the first 15mins!!!.....oh, and Peter sucks as a boyfriend!!!
THEY SCREWED UP THE HARRY STORY, we had it allllll set up for him to go ahead and get his revenge and have knockout showdown with Peter/Spiderman....well we just get him fighting Peter(no suit, insert cool CGI here) and right when we think we get a good resoloution to this conflict, lets give Harry AMNESIA!!!! make him forget his whole quest that was setup for TWO WHOLE MOVIES, brilliant Raimi, u idiot!!!! and on top of that lets REGRESS his character to the mind of horny, gushy highschool senior who just oh so loves his bestest friend in the whole wide world!!! Peter is his BFF!!!! everytime Harry smiles, i puke.....oh great "foreshadowing" his death Harry says "Their my best friends, i'd give my life for them".....good dialouge if u wanna spoil the characters fate!!! terrible writing.......then they tuck poor Harry away happily til they need to cut away from the other crappy storylines that isnt workin...
i was annoyed that they tried to force that Mary Jane was beautiful, in the comics, yes......in movie? dont push it, she had her moments, maybe this was aided by CGI....who knows.....and Mary Jane has some serious 'crabby' moments where she sounds like a total Bia-Biatch, kinda makes u not like her early, so ur hoping Peter leaves her for Gwen Stacy(who, by the way, shouldnt have even been in this movie, they shouldve used, i dunno anyone that didnt require them to screw up their story...)but the sad thing is ur not gonna like Peter either so, yikes!..oh and by the way, doesnt Peter become a man with a sack after high school? well apparently, Peter is still a loser in college and is bullied....another dropped ball....OH, AND I MENTIONED GWEN!!! even though her 'character' shouldnt have been in here, the smokin hot actress is a welcomed sight!!! she's naturally a redhead but plays a blonde, doh!!! hot mama though or maybe any woman playin in here with Kirsten would shine hmmm....but the way we are totally introduced to her and spidey together is....lame, a beam just so happens to rip through the very building and very floor that she's on, the beam mind u doesnt do damage to ANYTHING ELSE, just poor Gwen Stacy's floor is in danger so Spidey has to save her,(insert cool CGI here) come on writers!!! u didnt even try to make this interesting......
i will say i liked Topher as Eddie Brock, a slick-talkin dude...dont think this how is originally is but i'll accept it (insert forced funny scene here with J.Jonah Jameson here) and why isnt there ANY tension between Jonah Jameson and Peter? Peter just stole his son's fiance' and we get no kind of story on that???? couldve set up that Venom story real nice with his astronaut son too, i mean if u gonna introduce his son in part 2, why not go ahead and continue the story, its like he tried to go against logic, oh well....(insert contractual Stan Lee cameo here)
we get quite a few scenes of showing us that Peter sucks at being a boyfriend and that Mary Jane is a loser too!!!! WORST ONSCREEN COUPLE PERFORMANCE IN HISTORY!!!! even when they were suppose to be happy they still sucked!!! and when they suppose to show emotion, they just look stupid, their arguements are stupid, their responses(or lack thereof) are stupid, i dont recommend Tobey in any romantic comedy's, his personal life must lack inspiration or something, i dunno.....and reeeeaaal smart to makeout in front of ur girlfriend Pete!!! he kisses Gwen(not really makeout) as Spiderman as Mary J watches, and conviently Harry is there(maybe they gave him amnesia just to have this love triangle thing, cause hey thats what Spiderman is about right?)....the more this movie goes on, i start to hope this is Tobey's last movie as spiderman, he just loses me early in this movie(i didnt even get to the dancing yet aka Dark Peter lol what a joke!)....i get the fact that we get Peter getting 'full of himself' but its done kinda of childishly and handled stupidly, i swear the characters all regress back to part 1 as far as maturity
OH AND BRUCE CAMPBELL BRUCE CAMPBELL, if i hear another mention of this guy i'm gonna hurl!!! he's just an extra with a few lil funny lines, the fact that he's mentioned in nearly every review shows u how much crap we had to seep through to find something kinda good, and it was short! AND WHY OH WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CHANGE SANDMAN'S BACKSTORY TO BE UNCLE BEN'S 'REAL' KILLER!!!!!!!!!!! goodness Sam! this angle just wasnt needed, why change it needlessly, the story still couldve fit or not fit without it!!! its just there to irritate those that know the story and for those that dont know the story to force emotional involvement, i guess...
THIS JUST THE FIRST HOUR OF THIS MOVIE FOLKS...i cant believe i hate a spiderman movie, i mean this is a bad movie plain and simple, bad acting, bad script, BAD.....X3 is better, Batman Forever is better, Batman and Robin is only worst because it screwed up more villians i think....and i dont like the excuse that it was "too many villians to put in" no no no!! Batman Begins perfectly juggled several villians and stories and it DELIVERED, no excuses, this sucks!!!
u forget this is about Spiderman, cause all u see is Tobey playing Peter(badly), who happens to have web shooters in his arm....it shouldve been called "Peter Parker" cause there isnt much 'spiderman' to get happy about.....
