The Inbetweeners

Movie not available in US yet.

But did any UK fans see it yet?

Yeah, I saw it the other day. It was hilarious, really funny and great with a few surprises. IMO, it was better than the first movie.

I watched the entire show in the space of two days recently and it's just so funny. Although I didn't really like how 'The Camping Trip' wrapped things up; it didn't really feel like a finale and a lot of loose ends were left untied. The show ends with Simon not dating Carli, then we get the movie where he is but then immediately they break up? Eh.

The first movie did the annoying thing of the first time back after the supposed "ending" unwrapping everything the ending put in place. The second film seems to have done that with the first movie with the fact that any of the girls from movie 1 seems to have either dumped them, on a break or gone crazy therefore just reverting back to square one. I get it but I'd like to actually see these characters progress through the reprecussions of the last film rather than just essentially pretend it never happened.

Having said that the second film is meant to be a step up.

Good to hear from what Ive heard that the 2nd one is better than the first. I liked the first but there could be improvements.

I think they should make one more movie. Dont send them abroad. Make it a reunion back at school. Have some of the characters like Mr. Gilbert who wasnt in the first movie (and I assume 2nd) that much. And give it a proper ending on the show creator's terms

I think that's because they want to keep the characters as losers because theyre funnier that way

Mr. Gilbert was in the first movie, and he is in the second... Although it would be a spoiler to elaborate on that :cwink:

And that sucks.

Well, it doesn't. It's funny. But I'd rather see these characters progress and develop than just be stuck in the same rut because it's 'funnier'.

Also, Deserana, their girlfriends from the last movie are brought up. Lucy (Simon's gf) and Jane (Jay's) are in the movie and play pretty big roles. Will makes an offhand comment about how Alison dumped him, and Neil's girlfriend isn't mentioned at all. Ideally Alison would have been in it but ehh, I liked what we got.

GOt to see the movie.

It for sure was funnier than the first. But I was really dissapointed in the ending. Everything was wrapped up to quickly and like Hyde said they kept the characters as losers. The boys always get sh** handed to them, but I thought the ending just took it to the next level of "loserdom" for most of them.

I think no matter how bad it got for the boys, save for The Camping Trip, I always felt happy by the end of the story. But not with this movie.

For sure, I think they should make one more and just give the boys a final at least somewhat happy ending.

EDIT: Is Will still a virgin?

Yeah, Jay's big introduction/monologue at the beginning was really funny and well done.

Blackman - Will said that Alison dumped him but I doubt it. It was clear from the first movie that she had a pretty high sex drive so I expect pretty much as soon as they got back to England they started getting it on.

Jealous...

They probably couldn't get Laura Haddock for this one anyway.

Also, they are still basically teenagers. It's not like they are going to stay with and marry all those girls.

Any of you guys watch Channel 4 show Derry Girls?

The show is getting compared a lot to the Inbetweeners.
