The other one you posted is good but not at Hulk level, the face doesn't have nearly as much detail, the skin doesn't look nearly as good as hulks and look at the eyes, they're so blank and dead, hulk's despite the glow look like real eyes. Videogames have progressed very far in recent years but still, I haven't seen a game that matches TIH's level, even at this unfinished stage.

i guess it's a matter of opnion. look at the other one i posted. but neither am i the only one, nor the first one to point it out. so saying someone else agrees with you, or me saying someone agrees with me doesn't really matter.

the scene where he jumps out of the glass corridor...i wouldn't be able to if it was from the movie or the game.

Really is a matter of perception, everything is really.

I just spend more time with games (as I've said in the game thread used to review them for publications) than I do movies, so while I still think CG in every film so far has looked obviously fake and not even close to real life... I can safely say that TIH doesn't look as bad as a game.

I think it's safe to say that because it is stylized it's never going to look real. We all have a "realistic" human-like Hulk to base this one on from 03, and it looked better to most as it looked more human is my guess.

TIH's Hulk is stuck in a terrible middle ground, not only does he not look human but he doesn't look completely beast either, so critics can't really agree "Oh his skin looks like that due to the fact he's not human."

Notice all the criticisms are on Hulk, who is trapped in this middle ground and not Abomination who is completely opposite to 03's take as he looks nothing like a human save for the head.

Oh and please with the screenshots... let's not say Halo 3 is a pretty looking game. :oldrazz:

i don't agree with you here because i dont' see how you can tell the guy has a blank and dead eyes when it looks like he's confused after being tackled. he's looking at the guy that taclked him, he's not looking at the screen or somewhere else. there's more life there than you are willing to give credit.

the skin and the face look good only when hulk is in stance, yelling and screaming. the scene where he jumps down from the top, or any other movement...none of the traits you mentioned is evident.

i think you kinda you missed my point. videogames are amazing, but you're comparing the big leagues of movies to the small videogames. movies should blow them out of the water, not be legitimately campared to. i'm not saying videogames go up to the level of TIH, i'm saying TIH goes down to the videogame levels.

I agree. It's almost indistinguishable from game FX. Even in the pic above, the Hulk on the right looks like he's made of clay. I've heard all the arguement that his skin is supposed to be gamma enforced skin, so it won't look like ours, but that hogwash. It's poor rendering, and i doubt it was done intentionally. And i noticed, the lower pic of Hulk looks completely different from the pic on the right, face-wise. The lower one looks like a green human. The other looks like a monster. Where's the consistency?

i agree...so just as i've said earlier...drop the 100% CG and use some combo instead. CG will never look as good as the real thing. no matter how much into the future we get. like wobbly pointed out, T2 and jurrasic park still live up to the standards of today, and we're talking about movies 15 years ago.

so why go for it. find an alterantive. it obviously didn't work with 03 (and that CG was amazing in hindsight, some of it at least).

what did you mean by the halo shot? were you being sarcastic :csad:. i hope so cause i love that game

Blank, as in non reflective, no shine to them, no glisten. The skin when hulk jumps down looks fine, his face may not look 100% perfect but does it really matter? the scene lasts a whole second. Every other point in the trailer bar just before he kick blonsky the Hulk looks fine and much better than any videogame.

I haven't missed the point, you said it looks like a videogame, when infact it is far superior, not even comparable to a videogame. The only thing is can be compared with is fellow movies because those are the only things on the same level and really it's only a few shots in the trailer that don't look great.

Under the same couch cushion as Ang's Hulk. :oldrazz:

It's interesting you bring up the clay thing, as I feel the same way about Ang's (save for the close up against Talbot in Banner's house) the rest of the movie looks nothing like that close up in 03, and I always felt he had a play-dough appearance to him, much as I do in that picture everyone keeps posting (the one in the quote.)

Really though, you people must play a very small amount of games, either that or you give them more credit than I do.

again, i've been looking forward to this film for a long time. but i don't see why i need to love every aspect of it. no matter what you say, the CG will always be sketchy.

thats not the only scene man, we're talking about him walking up to blosky, the entire day scene, the little walk from where he lands to where he roars and starts running. hell, even teh scene with norton fallign down for the helicopter looks like something from the 80s, and that's not even CG.

whatever man. you still missed my point. i think we're gonna have to agree to disagree.

I actually agree about '03, I used to think it was perfect but looking back on it, only a few scenes does he look perfect, the rest of the time his skin looks rubbery.

Indeed, as others have pointed out the use of CG doesn't evolve as fast as people want it too, and simply it won't. Mix that with the low production time of TIH and bam, you get what you get. I don't want them to drop CG, but I am one of the few whom thinks TIH's actually looks better (than 03,) save for the skin. I've heard general movie goers say the same thing as well, most think it's leagues above Ang's. But I know that is MY experience and doesn't really account for the majority.

Which even then, I wonder if it's just the muscley-veiny look that makes the skin look off.

Sorry didn't mean to knock your game, I know it gets high ratings, but I've never been a Halo man. (Though it's got a great set-up for multiplayer.)

As I said to the people in the Videogame thread, your favorite game could get a 1 or a 9 but never stop loving it just because of some guys opinion. For me Halo 3 just wasn't a big enough jump. HD it may have been but it resembled Halo 2 so much that I thought some Wii... and sadly Xbox/Gamecube/PS2 gen games were more visually stunning than it.

Though, I did play it, and had my guilty fun for awhile with it. :cwink:

You don't have to love it. :oldrazz: Not in my eyes anyway, I just figure I'll do my own debating. If many can state why they hate it, I think I'll stand up for the underdog and say I love it. (And I really do.) The scream, after jumping through the glass, admittedly looks weird. It's the stretchy jaw, but so far everything else I have seen has impressed me big time!

we're not giving videogames more credit, we are lower movie hulk's credit. theres a difference. this shouldn't even be a matter of comparison. the fact that it does just goes to show you that the hulk's cg just isn't as good as poeple are making it out to be.

Again comes down to perception. Everyone is praising 03 now, but many were knocking it back then calling it Shrek on steroids.

For me there is no fact here. For you guys it looks like a game, for me it looks nothing like it, for you people are over hyping it, for me people are knocking it far worse than they should.

I mean you and me both agree CG will never look real (well anytime soon,) and then perception kicks in and for you it's a bad thing, for me I simply don't care, I love it.

In my own little world in the old Frostie brain, all I can think of is that fans are more upset than anyone. I've really not heard these complaints from any casual movie goers (who will be the ones giving TIH it's money if that marketing ever kicks in.)

And fans will continue to complain, because we've got more experienced companies out there like ILM that just plain do better jobs. They want their favorite characters to have the best effects and when it doesn't deliver the best it's not acceptable.

Not really, when he turns the jeep over looks great, the scene where he's walking upto blonksy looks great, if you freeze frame when Hulk is smashing at blonsky and taking out the helicopter looks good, nearly perfect. The problem with the leap out of the tunnel imo is not with the hulk, it's the background, I don't know if it's real or all cgi but it doesn't looks right. finally with the Hulks roar, the most debated, it isn't nearly as bad as people make out, with a few minor tweak it'll look great. As for the Norton fall, I agree that didn't look great but that was from the first trailer and sure to of been worked on since then.

If your point is, the CGI doesn't look perfect than fair enough but the videogame comment (hyperbole) thing is just dumb imo, the word videogame shouldn't even be in this discussion imo :oldrazz:. But yeah Agree to disagree I guess.

Can you all hurry up and get this worked out? The personnel at Marvel Studios are anxiously waiting for the person who gets in the last word, so they can make changes to Hulk's design accordingly. :whatever:

Okay, well obviously with their flood of marketing and the mass amounts of material they've released I am sure we can find something to talk about!...

:funny: i love it.

in my own opinion, while ang's hulk did in fact look more real, letterrier's(spelling?) actually looks like the hulk rather than ang's looking like a huge green kid

huge green kid with flabby pecs and somewhat of a six pack:woot::whatever:

I don't think so. In the screaming close-up I swear he looks like some EMO under heavy steroids.

Ahhh... the perpetual stream of negativity is so charming. And macho too. :whatever:

But keep it up because, as mentioned, Marvel is anxiously waiting for one of you to figure it all out. Design changes to take effect immediately. God speed.
