I agree, I found the CGI in Ironman to be pretty bad. Surprised to hear it was ILM.

Was even more surprised to see how average the movie was. I can not for the life of me understand why so many liked it that much. Especially the action was truly lacking and boring.

You were surprised probably because you're out of touch with reality. :hehe:

Yes, but how did you know what was CGI from the Practical in Ironman? Favreau has never been a CGI fan and most of the FX in the movie were practical. Something you thought was CGI could have very well been practical. How can you say something made from practical FX looked like fake CGI?

Because what was practical and CGI was painfully obvious (to me, but if you've read my other posts, all CG is painfully obvious which is why I rarely criticize any of it)? I've poked fun at the effects in Iron Man before, and will continue too. Specifically when the suit is being taken off and Pepper walks in, such an awkward scene. Amazing film, have seen it 3 times now, loved it every time. But to say in some scenes the CG wasn't blech? I'd be lying.

The guy above that says any of the cgi in Iron Man was painfully obvious is full of ****. There were scenes when I bet you couldn't tell me what part of the armor that was being worn by downey jr. was practical and cg. Hell in his flight test when he trashes the cars on of his arm bracers was added post filming by ILM, bet you couldn't tell me which one it was.

:wow: Frostbite is full of ****! His difference in opinion scares me! How dare he perceive things differently than I! SHH, let us ban together and take down this hedonistic poster! His heretic ways shall ruin our very way of life!

Listen, it IS obvious when it comes to the suits, and do you know why? That "weightlessness" of CGI, when the suit moves to smoothly, or seems to lack weight, more often than not, it's fake.

Scenes like the Mk I walking out of the cave, or him getting his suit on / off, look off.

If I am the only one who sees it, so be it, but I wouldn't really care as you know, art is SUBJECTIVE and we all see different things right...? Right?

But no no, let me bow down to you, concede that I am full of **** and admit your opinion on the CGI of an Iron suit is quite possibly the greatest gift given unto all of us that we have ever, and will ever recieve. Thank you oh wise and powerful hame, where ever would I be in this world without you and your fantastical knowledge of CGI flight stabilizers.

Interesting thing those flight stabilizers. They look better, seeing as they are no bigger than my mouse, far away on screen, and CG fire is blazing out of both of them. The suit on the other hand...

I have this sneaking feeling that you're being sarcastic. :oldrazz:

Uhmmm... Sorry if I am interrupting an important argument, but do you have a copy of TIH script? If so, would you mind sending it to me?

Sorry if I interrupted, again. -poofs-

You may have been wrong before, but now you're both wrong AND a dick. Congratulations

Oi, it's getting so serious in here...
Can't we just go back to being excited about the movie?

I am wrong and a dick? Mmm, I'll relish in the thought of it I guess.

Hame came out, and disrespected me by calling me full of ****. Rather than simply disagree, and you know, counter me out with the stabilizer comment. That extra step of calling someone full of ****, is, maybe not to you, but to me, disrespectful.

I don't take kindly to it. Sorry if my language bothers you, or anyone else. Respect me, and I'll respect you. Be a dick, and I'll be a dick. Kind of how the world works.

All that over CG Iron Suits, yikes.

Send me your E-mail in PM and I'll get to the script later tonight. Right now I am a bit cheesed...er, peed, er... ticked. :oldrazz:

Welcome to the Hulk forums, shouldn't surprise you that a group of people who love an raged filled monster can get pretty riled up. :cwink:

Eh, in that case dick on, my friend.

You're still wrong, though.

Thank you. :woot:

And, you do realize that, I am not saying it's bad... right? ...right?

There's a difference between, noticeable, and bad. Noticeable could look freaking nearly photo-realistic... you just notice that it's CG. I am not the type to go "LOLZ ITZ LYKE TEH VIDEO GAMZERZ!!1!"

The difference between his stabilizer comment and my suit comments are obvious, he was right, I didn't notice it. But to my credit, it wasn't dead center on screen or full on close up like the suits or his machines that put the suit on / off.

Sure, it's no trouble. No one here has bugged me that much, I can just get really saucy sometimes :cwink: :oldrazz: so you are no pain. Send it on over.

Thank you. :woot:

You did say painfully obvious.

But maybe you like pain... :ww:

You did say painfully obvious.

But maybe you like pain... :ww:

Painfully obvious means just that... it's abundantly obvious. Then again rarely has CG tricked me into thinking "Wait is that real or not!?" and I guess in the case of the stabilizers it passed me by, so I did admit defeat there. (I just had to blow off my steam from how he talked to me afterwards.)

Now if I would have said the CG itself was painful, gut wrenching etc.

But yes, I could see how that was conveyed differently by other people and have thought of rephrasing it myself.

Seeing as someone decided to jump on me with such language, which in turn has now lead me to be quite a prick this fiasco will undoubtedly last for a bit... so I'd say it's to late for editing to rephrase. :o

Then again, you are right, I did carry it on, which will only add fuel to the fire, looks like I am a masochist after all. :oldrazz:

Speaking of painfully, gut-renchingly, say-it-aint-so-ingly obvious CGI:

Fingers crossed for "unfinished", eh?

Just awful.

Saw it, loved it. Obvious yes, but most CG is (to me) the only bad CG I've seen all year is...well, by a studio and team I'd expect better from. (See: Indy IV.)

Sorry to hear, you find it so gut-wrenching. Hopefully you'll enjoy the movie anyway, as it is probably finished.

Obvious and poorly done. Hulk looked like crap in this clip. Some wild swings in quality for this flick so far.

Eh that's your opinion and you are entitled to it (man oh man, all that could of been avoided if others could say that :cwink:.) Hence why I hope you still enjoy it. Looks like quality work to me, as was Iron Man.

The only thing that was poorly done to me is the face shot lacks any intensity. Ah well, I love the landing, and the transformation in the chamber looks ace to me.

It's the lighting. All of the other characters are normally lit, but for some reason they have The Hulk all shadowy. Doesn't match.

Still, the CGI's passable. On the bright side, if this movie is a success and a sequel's greenlit, maybe they'll give a bigger budget to the CGI department.

It looks like something I would have expected from ILM, back in 1999. Hopefully it isn't finished, because shots like that would actually distract me from the film - in a bad way.

Makes me nostalgic for Ang and crew. :( But, then, most of this production does.
