Where is this?
Found this interview with Guy Pearce on the Marvel homepage. It contains new details about Killian and his background - http://marvel.com/news/story/20330/iron_man_3_under_the_armor_with_guy_pearce
Guy Pearce: Killian is an interesting character as hes somebody who came into this world with a number of physical disabilities. Hes never been able to accept those limitations though and has spent most of his life trying to overcome them in any way he can. His tenacity and blind determination in fighting for a better life are seen by some as irritating, as he often comes across as obnoxious. He just wont accept the cards he was dealt, and being as intelligent as he is, has real drive to change and become a different person.
So we find him at the start of the film in a flashback and we see the ambitious, almost annoying, guy that he is. He takes opportunities to try and latch onto people like Tony Stark. So you see this very ambitious character and you see him later on in the film having made a change, and Tony and the other people that have met him early on kind of go, How did this happen? How did he do this? But hes a dangerous character. He wants to become all-powerful. Thats sort of a driving force with him and Tony Stark realizes eventually what this guy is capable of.
Guy Pearce: When Killian started his organization A.I.M., however many years ago, Pepper was somebody whom he employed to work there. Obviously, from the outset he was very keen on her. Shes smart, shes attractive, shes a great girl. But Killian was someone that she was never interested in. When we meet Killian early on in the film, everything about him is unappealing on some kind of level and she always kept him at arms length. Then years later when he goes to her to basically look for funding and to get her involved again, shes completely taken aback by how charming he is and how wonderful he now looks, plus his attitudes changed. So she is kind of taken by him; she doesnt quite know whats happening to her and her reaction to him. And obviously, she and Tony Stark have a relationship, so this causes a little rift between those two.
I only like one Snyder film; I think Goyer is pretty close to being a hack. i have no inclination to being predisposed to liking this film.I think your fanboy-ness is showing.
Yes, I think so. The Avengers 2nd trailer and the December TDK trailer trump it in terms of pure fanboy glee, but that's more to do with the footage in the trailer than how it was crafted. In terms of top to bottom construction, it's an incredible trailer. I would only put David Fincher's Social Network trailer and Dragon Tattoo teaser ahead of it in recent trailer history. It's a good trailer but most finely constructed ever? Hmm, not seeing it.
Considering they started filming nearly a whole 2 years before that trailer came out(pretty much unheard of these days) I'd be suprised if it came out anything other than good.
maybe your fanboyness is getting a little bit ahead of you.
Say what? There was little hype before the trailer. The trailer kick started the hype.the mos trailer wasn't that good, it was just there to hold the already building hype.
Say what? The entire clip was packed to the end with some of the most beautiful and evocative imagery in Superhero cinema. Just because they didn't show action doesn't mean they showed nothing.the voice overs were good but they barely showed any good footage.
The second trailer would mostly likely blow everyones mind.
I thought it was great.TBH the new IM3 trailer wasn't that amazing either.
My excitement for the trailer barely increased but then again it is already at its peaks. The first IM3 trailer was actually really good since it brought a little dark tone and some neat footage.
Monorail!!!
I found it both MOS trailers boring and the music dreary and depressing. The teaser used the music from the scene after Gandalf died in FOTR, which is the most god-awful depressing piece of music imaginable. I kept waiting for them to show me the money (shots) but it never happened. The prospect of 2-1/2 hours of that is positively mind-numbing. Yeah, I know, the trailer =/= the movie, but it's supposed to sell us on how exciting the movie will be. On that count MOS's trailers have failed.

I can't see monorail and not immediately think........Simpsons.t:
Ehh..., I've only read a few of the well known Superman comics. I'm more well versed in Batman and X-men.I was more thinking of Superman fandom rather than any allegiance to Snyder or Goyer.
I wonder if the TV spot tonight is just a clip. I kinda hope not.
Well Don was on Leno lastnight and only mentioned IM3 a bit and said his kids played with the Iron Patriot Action figure. They mostly talked about the tv show he's on

I think it hardly matters how they got there; the fact is, they did. They made a great trailer. If having a far bigger head start gave them an advantage, then so be it.
Maybe yours is ahead of mine. Because jumping to ad hominem because you don't like someone's opinion is one of the tenets of fanboyism.

The shot of the school bus falling in the water.
The beautifully lit array of pencils.
Martha stepping out of her house to an Alien spaceship that looks something out of a Spielberg film.
Supes in cuffs being escorted by the Airforce.
A troupe of tanks and grunts aiming directly at Lois and Clark. The framing and lighting of this shot is incredible.
Every light collateral being lifted off the city by an anti gravity device.
The picturseque shot of Superman striding across the arctic, followed by the majestic, fetishistic shot of his regal cape, the snow and debris around him lifting as he takes flight and crosses the sound barrier.
The shot of mama El watching Krypton being destroyed.
Most comic book films would be lucky to have two shots as good as those in their trailers. This film has it in spades. Now excuse me while I laugh at your claim of barely showing anything.
That is probably will.
I thought it was great.
I'm surprised you liked a trailer that showed "barely any footage:.
From the interview it sounds like the final fight is between Iron Man and Killian and Killian is the big bad, main villain .
Welp, my excitement for this movie dropped like a rock.
Countin down till Thor: The Dark World.
Mandarin is in the movie, and he's not the main villain? the hell?
