I am actually really looking forward to MoS. I can thank the trailer for that
Ok, now that I am done laughing, lets please avoid talking about MoS. It can't go anywhere nice in this forum. We saw that earlier.
That's cool, my opinion is still the same.
And you made me belly laugh. We all win.
This is pretty much how i look at it too. Black and Feige made it pretty clear their version of the Mandain wasn't going to be similar at all to the character from the comics.
For the record I think MOS is gonna be a great film and is my 3rd most anticipated film this year.
I'd give the new trailer an 8, so it's not like I hate it I just don't think it's "all that".
MoS looks cool, but I just have no interest in Superman. I'll watch the movie with open opinions and see if it changes my standing.
Looks like they royally succeeded in having the Mandarin character not offend the Chinese (their government) in every way possible.
From not making him being completely oriental, to taking his space rings away, to not even having him based in
China, but in a mansion in Miami
And now he's
not even the main villain
Yeah, I have the same stance on Cap's new costume in his next movie, people hate that he doesn't have the red white and blue among other reasons and say that he isn't truly Captain America cause in the comics when he was out of the stars and stripes he wasn't going by the Captain America name.
But my stance is that to anyone in the general audience watching the film as long as Chris Evans is there, he's Cap no matter what he's wearing. Sometime I think people just like to complain for the sake of complaining, I just take things as they come and try to enjoy them as much as possible.
Even a string bikini? t:
well of course, what else is he going to wear to the beach on his off days?
1940s swimwear of course.
I'm not going to prematurely get mad or disappointed about something everyone seems to be saying is incredibly well executed. That just seems silly to me.
The response towards this movie seems to be overwhelmingly positive and Disney is showing some major confidence by doing some more early screenings with no embargo on reviews for the upcoming screenings. That to me shows they have something that's quality.
Yep. Its all about execution for me. I'm not saying they should do just whatever the hell they want with the characters but if the writer/director has a great idea that meshes well within the context of the story, i really don't care. And Shane Black seems to have done just that.
Well considering no one seems to be able to say what is exactly happening, how well executed can it really be?
yay, someone agrees with me!
But isn't MCU always commended for not being "ashamed" of their comic book roots while DC and non Marvel Marvel films allegedly are? The disappointment is understandable from that context.
just caught an awesome new different version of the heartbreaker tv spot on ABC...
k now i dont care about Mandy replacement...
If Fox or some other studio had pulled the Mandarin thing, I don't think as many people would be okay with it.
I'm sure those people would be okay with it when they saw the immense reaction from those who attended early screenings and gave nothing but glowing reviews regardless of the studio.
That's easy to say when another studio owning it isn't the case.
I'm still confused as to what exactly the twist is. Lots of people seem to like it. Lots say it is controversial. But when it gets down to it the details are fuzzy. [BLACKOUT]Is Killian actually THE Mandarin? Or is The Mandarin still the Mandarin, but just not the central villain?[/BLACKOUT]
Can no one answer this? Does no one know?
Then why even pose that question if you're going to respond with something like that? All you're trying to do is instigate another petty "studio vs studio" argument and I won't be having any of that.
Don't pose hypothetical questions that only serve as baiting.
The people who watched it do know but are just honoring the embargo by Marvel. I'm sure for the next screening we'll get a clearer answer seeing as it has been reported that Disney isn't putting an embargo on the next LA screenings.
MOS has had nothing to do at all with this conversation. Nothing. Why bring it up? To start some sort of fight?
And this twist has been controversial for awhile, since it was first hinted at weeks ago. It has just now gotten additional confirmation is all.
If FOX had pulled off with their Marvel properties what Marvel Studios has, I dont think that would be true. But alas, we live in a world where Galactus was a Space Tornado, X-Men 3 was a cluster****, the first Wolverine was disappointing (to put it mildly).
Those things get held against the studio, rightly or wrongly, and while First Class was a step in the right direction, it hasn't washed out the stain of past blunders. Hopefully though, the next Wolvie and X-Men movies will follow in the footsteps of First Class. Same with the FF reboot.
