Hi. I’m a bit of a comics newbie, so forgive my ignorance.

Was any of Jim Lee’s run on the X-Men collected in TPB form?

So far all I can find on Amazon is X-Men: Mutant Genesis.

Is that or any other TPBs worth buying, or would that be like buying the X-Men equivalent of The Dark Knight Strikes Back or something?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Well, there is the "X-Men Visionaries: Jim Lee" trade that's still out there. Seeing as how the emphasis is on Lee's art, I'd say that's not a bad place to start.

I'm pretty sure those are the only two TPBs collecting Jim Lee's art. Mind you, he wasn't on the books too terribly long, and what he was on there for wasn't all that breathtakingly awesome. You could probably hop by a comics shop or a collectibles store and pick up a few back issues fairly cheap, if that would do for you.

Jim Lees run with the X-Men wasnt for very long. Mutant Genesis collects most of his work.

i wish they would collect more issues
the jim lee era was my favorite
never has storm (my favorite character) looked hotter

Everyone looked hotter in the Jim Lee era!

Jim Lee's run on X-Men ranges between the years 1988-1992.

Uncanny X-Men 248-286 (a number of these are only cover arts though)

X-Men 1-11

These TPBs cover most of Jim Lee's run, especially X-Men Visionaries as is noted by usagicassidy, and they can all be found on Amazon.com by searching "Jim Lee" or "X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda."

X-Men: Mutant Genesis (X-Men 1-7)

X-Men Visionaries: Jim Lee (Uncanny X-Men 248, 256, 257, 258, 268, 269, 273, 274, 275, 276, 277, 286 among others)

X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda (this features Jim Lee's work on Uncanny X-Men 270, 271, and 272)

Wizard: Jim Lee, Millennium Edition (This is a pretty interesting book if you're just interested in Jim Lee and his work)

X-Tinction Agenda is the only one worth getting imo.

Great pic! Where's it from?
That is Stevie Hunter next to Jean, isn't it? (Yay, Stevie!) And who's the guy behind them---Gambit?

yes thats Stevie. What ever happen to her?

Wow Scott looks raaaaarrrrrr!!!! Wish Remy didn't hid behind Jean. And Warren flying, wow.

And the ladies are just soooooo overwhelmingly stunning!!! Betsy, Ororo, Rogue and Jean! I can't even choose!!!

its a bit bigger than A4 so it wouldn't all get on the scanner- gambit is making the moves on jean so she is pulling on his fingers hard- and rogue looks on moodily. i also love how rogue is in the centre of the picture with everyone else at a distance- shows the isolation really well.

my fav part- warren's speedo :woot:

I'd love to live in Jim Lee's reality. I'll always be grateful to him for making Rogue sexy. I used to have the poster from X-Men #1 with the entire X cast of characters on my wall for years. I bought 2 of those issues just so I could take off the poster.

^He really did make the X-Men look....cool. His Colossus was awesome. Did he ever draw Nightcrawler or Shadowcat? Can't remember...

I think she's stuck in Supporting Character Limbo. Deb Whitman (from Spider-Man) used to be in there, but I hear she escaped recently. :yay:
