Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Joker profit = Infinity war profit
Endgame profit > Joker profit

Article means Joker ROI > Endgame ROI but if someone reads the headline it sounds like Joker profit > endgame profit which isn't true

THERE

is that fixed now?

And ultimately, in the long run, IW will prove to be more profitable if we take into account the money Disney will make from the sale of IW merchandise.

Joker has no merch.

The ratio of Total Gross to Production budget of Joker is insane, which places it ahead of any other cbm.

Also, it's worth noting that Joker's marketing budget was much less than that of Captain Marvel/ IW/Endgame.

Why would that you're yuppie know all the words to Send In The Clowns? Unrealistic. Zero stars.

Guess you have absolutely no knowledge of any songs that were popular when you were young, right?

And... THAT alone is your criteria for judging the movie? Not anything else? That's what your criticism hinges on?

That's just silly.

Todd Phillips on a possible sequel :
"But it couldn’t just be this wild and crazy movie about the 'Clown Prince of Crime,'" said Phillips. "It would have to have some thematic resonance in a similar way that this does. Because I think that’s ultimately why the movie connected, it’s what’s going on underneath. So many movies are about the spark, and this is about the powder. If you could capture that again in a real way, that would be interesting."

To him, it’s those ambiguities that make the film worthwhile. For the record, Phoenix says, he does personally believe that Fleck is the actual Joker. “But I don’t know,” he adds with a wry smile. “It’s just my opinion.”

ah ha!

so from the director's attitude to the theories and the lead's answers, to me it sounds like it's the Joker that was sent to Arkham by Batman, told the therapist his account of his origin, messed around with Bat's origin as a "joke," but used the last scene to leave the door open for those who want to treat this as an illusion and not the true origin story because they don't want one or don't like this version

I'd be psyched if we get a sequel with Bat, or if Joaquin joins one of Reeves' films, but leaving it as it is to preserve the legacy is fine as well

And that's assuming that the sequence in question happened, and wasn't a figment of Arthur's imagination.

Haha that's wild since Heat inspired The Dark Knight. Also Heat ****ing rules

annnnd.... It happened! 1b!

This is incredible. Who knew that a film that's apparently made for incels would make $1 Billion dollars? Seriously what a great achievement and I'm glad that this movie is getting so much love from the audience. I bet woke Twitter/critics are mad as hell.

I still remember people saying why Todd Philips tho ? The guy who directed Hangover movies ? He has now got three R-rated movies in Top 20 R-rated List at RT. That's some achievement.

(Joker #1, Hangover Part-II #8 and Hangover #19)

I'd love to see the faces of those who were so adamant that 'Nobody wants to see a Joker movie without Batman' or tried to boycott this movie for apparently being the only movie ever to glorify violence, especially when Joker doesn't even do that!

Hats off to Phillips and Phoenix.

How Joker’s gritty logo was created with wood type letterpress

Can you talk us through the creative process for this logo and letterpress in general?

Very little information was given for me to go off. All that was said is that it’s much darker and more visceral than the usual DC Jokers. “Think Taxi Driver.”

I have an HD full of letterpress-printed sample sheets, and within each print run, I’ll print several states. For this project, I did aggressive / transparency / scraping / noise of that one typeface, then scanned and cataloged each of them. I am not a “purist,” but I have always needed to bring my work outside of the computer by printing it out and adding some of myself into it. Physical objects, like wood type or Letraset, rub down type and help me perceive space in a different way. I don’t always need to work this way, but it does help.

Absolutely stunning achievement. I am baffled (in a good way lol) as to how a small, gritty, downbeat movie like this had so much rewatch appeal among the masses.
