He trims down for the off-season he bulks up for his money roles.

Bloody hell, how much weight did he lose?!

Doesn't make it any less creepy, lol. I know it's healthier but when a fat dude loses a **** ton of weight it just uncanny valleys him to high hell.

Might as well let him put a fat suit on instead of gaining weight for his roles.

Fat suits are healthier. Plus wearing one all day can be a workout in itself. :woot:

I'd love it if all these actors just started walking around like above as a tout for the roles.

It is a trend to explain a villain's backstory. Personally, I don't prefer it either. I would've been fine with Darth Vader being mysterious. Or Maleficent just being evil, without some explanation as to why. Nowadays all we can do when they decide to do it, is hope that they don't mess it up.

I guess this could be seen as one possible version of a backstory. Since we have multiple Jokers onscreen, maybe they could give us multiple backstories (or hints of them)...And since this is not part of the DCEU, this version is not canon.

Could it make for an interesting story/movie? Possibly.

So are the guys in here gonna claim they've never found a female villain hot before?

Because Harley Quinn has done crap just as bad as the Joker and yet I see dudes constantly talking about how hot they find rher or how they like a little crazy in their women.

1) Being romantically inclined toward someone and being attracted to them aren't always the same thing. I could almost understand a physical attraction to the character, but not any romantic inclinations.

2) I think Harley is just as horrible a person as The Joker.

3) Harley is at least meant to be sexy. The Joker, more often than not, is intentionally drawn to look like a monster.

And quite a few people would say that they find Ledger and Leto sexy.

And yet people seem just fine with dudes talking about how they wanna bang her. It's almost like it's not really relevant because she's a fictional character!

The problem with it not being canon is that even if the film is great it wouldn't help out the DCEU all that much, and it needs support right now. WW was a great boost and a lot will lie with JL but the next set of films also have to maintain a certain standard for the GA to get fully invested and I don't think it's worth allocating too many resources to films that aren't going to support the DCEU (later sure, just not in this crucial period).

Honestly I have no idea what WBDC wants right now. So many mixed signals. They would be a terrible spouse.

Which is, again, not always or necessarily the same thing as a romantic inclination, which is what I was talking about.

And you know for a fact I'm one of those people?

Right, because there's nothing questionable about romanticizing unapologetic, murdererous lunatic, fictional or not.

Not saying you're wrong about getting other DCEU films into production, but WB has endless resources. The DCEU should be on a 3-film-a-year pace like the MCU, a one-off Joker origin film probably wouldn't be a big deal. But totally agree with your point. They are setting themselves up to make a great film that isn't part of the DCEU and will likely confuse the average movie goer.
