The Joker Thread - Part 1

I'd be down to see a Joker who starts out "just wanting to see the world burn" but then pivots to that nihilistic, "everybody can have one really bad day" motive after he comes in contact with Batman. Give him some kind of infatuation or game to play with Batman. I want to see him in a love/hate relationship with Batman. Have him be frustrated with Batman's very existence but also love the fact that he's got a partner to who will match any extreme lengths that the Joker goes to.
To build on this, if Reeves does want to follow more of the comic canon, Batman could indirectly create the Joker at Ace Chemicals

The Joker could randomly appear a few months to a few years after this. He could start off as a lone serial killer, just targeting random people and then he becomes obsessed with Batman

Have we had a Joker's whose main motive is focused entirely on breaking Batman's mind? Joker could psychologically torment Batman and push him to his absolute limit

If this truly is a humanist Batman then a nihilist Joker is the perfect foil to that. It's almost like a collision course in fact

I would love this

You mean like a clinical Antisocial Personality Disorder angle?
Hmmm, maybe. I just don't see Reeves going all in on a meaningless or objectiveless Joker for the entire duration. With his Batman supposedly honing in on a self-described humanist angle, I think it would be natural to find a foil to that. The trick in there is to find something different from Ledger's take while still filling that void/foil. So I guess tl;dr: yeah if they go with something like the telltale route that could work on different levels.

Ledger's Joker was more focused on proving a point about the city overall; That no one is inherently good and everybody is just like him at their core when the shackles of morality are undone

Reeves' Joker could be focused on breaking Batman and driving him insane. To otherwise turn him exactly like him. Where Batman sees the value in life, Joker revels in the apparent pointlessness of it. Two sides of the same coin

I could see the Joker going after the people most important to Batman and taking a page out of the Killing Joke, capturing and torturing someone(s) he loves. Whether that be Barbara, Alfred, Dick or even Gordon (A role reversal of the Killing Joke) Everybody is begging Batman to end the Joker as he terrorizes their lives but he refuses, still feeling like Joker is not beyond help, that he can be rehabilitated

The "no-kill " rule will have have to have been adequately built and strongly cemented into the character in order for this to work

Well, the Telltale Joker doesn't really seem to have Antisocial Personality Disorder; that's basically the clinical diagnosis for psychopathy/sociopathy. Although I get what you're saying

Guys I found new jocker he looks so cool right??!!? Screenshot_20200506-194018.png

I’m just not into bleached Joker. For this Joker, there are 3 ways that I could see him. Pale vampire-esque, albino or a rare form of vitiligo that that mostly affects his face to make it appear extremely pale.

What if the chemicals just make him look pale? I'm sorry, I just really don't want another face paint Joker, especially if they decide to make him an enduring character

Agreed. Maybe this version could be more "veiny", like, diseased almost
That would be an interesting route to take:

Maybe a bit more subtle and on the fleshy parts of the face i.e

I'm definitely in favor of and prefer the perma white Joker. And since Joaquin's went the makeup route, perma white would be a good way to differentiate the two.

I'd also like to see an unnaturally wide smile on him

(Maybe not as extreme as this but you get the idea)

And incorporating the fedora into Joker's look would be dope

I love the visual of the shadow hiding his eyes and we only see the smile. Very unsettling

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I had in mind. Something that looks really creepy and unnatural. And I agree with what you said about the fedora looking creepy from certain angles

I'm kinda doubting we'll see something like Clayface or Manbat in this universe
Idk we will see in the future when it comes to those villains. Reeves did say he doesn't want to go too realistic with his Batman. So it's about how would they fit into a story without being forced fan service.

I love it too! I want him bleached skin and can go from charming to creepy without missing a beat!:hoboj::joker:

Jesus...thats all the way bad.
I'd say he was the best part of that show, but the shoddy camerawork, stock music, and overall fanfiction-y vibes couldn't save that trainwreck. But that's honestly a primetime drama problem in general, not necessarily a "Gotham" problem. I'm admittedly a bit of a snob when it comes to TV shows.

A couple of sites have said that WB is eyeing Aaron Paul to play a version of Batman in a Joker sequel. Now, I'm not saying no to this, but this is just a fake rumor, right?

way too early to be casting a joker for a sequel to a movie that isn't even half way done filming. And I doubt it'd be Aaron Paul.

I thought so. Although, I wouldn't be against seeing Aaron Paul in a superhero movie. It shouldn't be a waste of his talents, though.
