Justice League The Justice League Casting Thread - Part 5

well she wouldn't need an "OMG" kind of performance for Justice League, we all know she has to be there for that movie but I really do not see a full out Wonder Woman film being made, as much as I may want one.

For that purpose, sure someone who is better at acting is a bonus, but really for the kind of purpose that Diana will more than likey get in JL, Palicki is more than qualified.

Now if they are planning to give Diana a larger role and her own movie.....then I'd still want Palicki to be given a shot at it (screen test with a decent friggen script).

Not my top pick, but in my top 3 :)
Yeah that's the way to go. This is actually why I fear Snyder may cast Carano because if it's just about JL and having a badass WW in a supporting role who looks the part and can kick major ass, she may get it. We don't know if Snyder/Nolan care or know about Diana as a character. They may not want to give her any monologues. Keeping her for JL exclusively, as a simple badass chick.

But I hope not. I don't want to hear everyone (including myself) talk about it like "Ughh she's a bad actress, there's much better out there. She only got it cuz she's dating Superman in real life & can fight".

Emily Blunt is a high choice but Palicki has the height and that presence that Blunt doesn't have. I cant see Blunt playing Princess Diana then training for Diana Prince right after lol. Something about that sounds funny to me.

Lynn Collins would be perfect if she can get back to the gym but she's not exactly box-office friendly. Palicki has that advantage over her too. Adrianne also loves the character and would jump at the chance to be back.

I don't see a WW movie being planned so they'll just focus for the time being on her in JL.

fading looks lol damn john carter was last year and she looked gorgeous
Yes, she's still beautiful but she's put on a lot of weight. Like I said she's not a box-office draw which may be the future of Adrianne Palicki.

I'm usually against the blatant sexist ageism when it comes to the casting of female actresses. I defended Amy Adams from the sexism because she is a fantastic actress and Lois Lane being in her 30's is more realistic than casting another 20 year who looks like 16 for that role. Also I like Lois being older than Clark. 99% of the time I'm fine with an actress in her 30's playing younger than her age. If she can play younger who cares?

But Lynn Collins looked older than her age in John Carter and I found it unbelievable when she was acting like this 20ish immature princess in that film. I'd prefer a Diana in her 20's no matter the actress's actual age, Collins has aged out of the role IMHO.

Collins didn't look old in John Carter at all. Don't see where this is coming from.

Hmm I don't mind her looking like she's in her mid 30s. We don't really know how her story will be written or hinted at leading up to her meeting with Supes, Bats. I guess a late 20s or 30 year old works better. I mean, how old is Collins now?

She looks late 20s, maybe 30 in those pics. Ill lean more towards late 20s. I don't see why she couldn't get back into shape over the next year or two, grow her hair again (if she hasn't done those things already since the last pic I saw of her: which was months ago). She'll probably look like she's in her early 30s in a JL. I prefer that over somebody who looks like she's 24 for Diana.

snyder is'nt michael bay lol

snyder cast actors like patrick wilson, matthew goode, jackie earl haley, abbie cornish, oscar isaacs, etc. in his films

he usually casts very good actors

wait, she got the part? I remember reading about her being up for the part, but never that she officially got it??

Blunt for me is at a tie for #1 on my personal list with Gemma Arterton, I have a whole list of people for various DC characters and at first I had Blunt for someone else (not saying who) but after those awesome manip pix of her as Diana, yeah I kept picturing her in Looper and she fits, she might not be as tall as Adrianne, but she could do it :)

Arterton, she has the experience for the character, she's played a princess, she's played a warrior type in both Clash of the Titans & Hansel & Gretel (she even has whip training thanks to the later), she's good actress....all thats needed is there.

Collins, from the moment she showed up on the big screen in John Carter I've thought she'd be amazing as Diana.........then I saw her at the premier of the movie and cried (she put on at least 30 pounds and was popping out of her dress...not in a good way).

I'm not sure if is theost recent pic

But 5 years at 40, she may end up like this :o

I didn't say she was old. But she looks older than I want Wonder Woman to look in her first film.

Yeah, but she could easily pull off a Diana that's in her mid to late 20's. I suppose you're aiming for someone a bit younger than that, though... but then, it would be Wonder Girl and not Woman. :oldrazz:

Yeah and RDJ could look like that in 3 years when he hits 50. That's the risk you take when you make investments like this.

She's also called Lynn Collins. Google sees the future lol

She cannot play a 25 year old. Hell I wouldn't believe her playing younger than 35 years old to be honest. I have no idea what you are looking at.

Don't know if Blunt got the part but im expecting her to get it.

I personally find Gemma to be too young looking for what I want in WW. I don't find her a good actress either. From what ive seen anyway. Maybe ill look into it more.

Yeah Collins gained around that. She could drop it in time though. Maybe a recent pic will show that she's lost it.

Yes I know, im just worried lol. Because I have no idea how he looks at WW. Or how theyre going to write her. You never know if Cavill is in Snyders ear trying to convince him that Carano has the look, the fighting skills and is getting more film experience. Im just speculating cuz I have no idea what they think of Diana.

Ill just block it out. You're right. I have to look at MOS's casting. It's incredible.

Blunt, Palicki, Collins is my top 3. No order. Id be thrilled for any of them. But right now im really digging the idea of an actress who is already tall and built enough to look the part without having to say "she'll have boots and camera tricks and tone up".

When I look at Collins in Carter im like THAT IS WONDER WOMAN. I felt the same during some scenes with Lady Jaye in GI Joe. Just her height and look.

I think she could play a mid-20 year old, and the way she looked in John Carter made it very believable that she was around that age range as Princess Deja imo.

She's also called Lynn Collins. Google sees the future lol
