Justice League The Justice League Critic Reviews/Rotten Tomatoes Thread - Part 2

I can't believe a live-action Justice League movie comes out tomorrow and I'm like "Yeah, I'll get around to watching it at some point"

I've waited my whole life to see these characters in a movie together and now that it's here I couldn't care less. Goes to show how bad DC has screwed their cinematic Universe up.

It may be beyond repair at this point. Snyder really needs to go. He should have been gone after Man Of Steel in my opinion.

Withholding your MAIN SERVICE just to force people to watch your web show is not a good idea, RT.

Rise, Metacritic, rise.

The entire driving force of their success is convenience - "instead of seeking out the reviews yourself, here's a site that gathers them all and gives you a percentage how many recommend it. Just one click and you know what critics thought!" If they're gonna make it inconvenient to get to that convenience, then they're gonna shoot themselves in the foot.

It's ridiculous, social media suicide.

(Re-posting what I aid in the last thread):

I'll be interested to see the final stats on this one.

It's a weird thing. I like this movie better than BvS because of the tone and obvious course correction etc, it's got some fun... But, just as a movie and taking the fact that I'm a Superman/DC fan out of it... This is definitely a worse movie than BvS.

I agree, this is a really stupid idea. I thought all the reviews would release on their site at midnight...but instead its an unupdated score and I still cant see any new reviews.

They have - for example - missed the first day of screening in Australia.

Very stupid idea.

I think Whedon will man his chair going forward.

Honestly, I am very critical of films and I didn't think it was a bad film but I can certainly see why a lot of folks didn't like it. It was disappointing in a lot of areas, but it was watchable and it followed a coherent plot. But I guess in this day and age of comic book films, we should expect a bit more than "watchable and coherent" from Justice League.

DC played it safe with Justice League in order to turn around the public perception. Maybe a bit too safe, but it was effective enough.

He's totally out. He's allegedly already planning pre-production for his next war film, "The Last Photograph."

I just think Warner Bros. should focus on solo films for awhile.

Quite the contrary, I think they need to push forward. In the aftermath of this film, whether people felt it was a good movie or a bad movie, it was effective in changing the tone and the course away from Snyder's original vision and in the right direction.

DC needs to get ready for a real shared universe. I think they should definitely get their solo films going, but I think they need to figure out what the larger story arc is for their universe.

I want MoS2 more than any DC film, period. Can't wait for WW2, The Batman's got promise, interested to see what Whedon does with Batgirl, Shazam's got my curiosity due to its casting, and I'm happy to see GL getting another shot. I'd be fine with no more JL for a while if we can get some solid franchises from those going.

Best thing about this is that the show itself is rotten, with constant quick-cut editing and two hosts who cannot possibly be as enthusiastic as they act.

It worked out it seems. People couldn't stop looking for the RT score all day. :funny:

Man of Steel 2 with a proper director that gets Superman. All I want.

Only because it's a new thing and people aren't wise to it yet. If they keep it up with Star Wars onwards, they're gonna have less and less people looking for their scores when they know it ain't coming any time soon. And they'll keep an eye on other sites that DO post the reviews when they come out.

You don't get it, man, it's too deep.
The quick cuts represent the frenzy of social media.
Even their opposing arguments depict the conflictual landscape of today's fandom.

They don't need one. I'd rather see Patty play in the Wonder Woman lore sandbox than shove in things that relate to a shared universe. I'm fine with name drops or easter eggs but it shouldn't be to the point where it effects the movie.

I feel the same way, its a crying shame it hasn't already happened. Still, I think these films need to build upon one another and start filling in the universe.

Agreed. DC should have followed the Dark Knight model and had closed, fully realised movie series. Imagine a closed WW series done by Patty Jenkins that didn't need to conform to what was happening in the wider DCEU. Imagine if we'd got to see a full trilogy of Cavill's Superman.

Missed boats.
