Boxofficepro early projections are up

150 million opening weekend, 330 million total NA

Pros

Justice League (Warner Bros.) will unite key heroes from the DC universe with the promise of Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, and (presumably) Superman joining forces in their first film as a collective group. The previous DC universe films have generated major financial success thus far, although only Wonder Woman has enjoyed both box office supremacy and critical + audience adoration. The latter’s goodwill — on top of the fact that Batman is still one of the most bankable icons in film history — could allow some audiences to give League the benefit of the doubt. Fans are also very curious about what kind of influence Joss Whedon (The Avengers) will have had on the finished product since Zack Snyder stepped down during production following a family tragedy.

Cons
It’s no secret that Batman v Superman was received poorly by many fans, and that will be Justice League‘s biggest obstacle to overcome as the spiritual sequel to that film. In addition, opening in the third weekend of Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok could present even more challenges since this is the shortest competitive window in which DC and Marvel tentpoles have attempted to compete within against each another. As such, reviews and early fan reactions will be crucial to Justice League‘s long term prospects.

Can I repost my post about ViewerAnon? People should know now for sure he is lying.

He said:

"Set piece 1: The bank scene, where a group of terrorists try to murder men, women, and children. "

WRONG! With a frame from the trailer, I managed to find the place where the scene happens. And it's not a bank! Why would there be students on a tour inside a bank? It's the Old Bailey in London, a historical place that is included in several tours.

If even the trailer is not indicative of being a bank, why would he who suposed watched the whole scene and the repercussion of what happens at the scene would confuse the place with a bank? He is a liar and not even that clever.

Bro, let it go. Anon already got the attention he wanted, whether he's telling the truth or not. Reddit will always be an idiot cesspool to me one way or the other. It's just waiting game for all of us here now and whether his claims get debunked or not, makes little difference to me at this point.

I'm leting this go now. Because now I'm sure he is a liar. But debunking him is good for people who have just read the things he said and are wondering if it's really true. Showing it is a lie saves their time.

Sounds about right. No better than BvS, probably no worse.

According to Batman news, another character has been cut. Dont read the spoilers if you dont wanna know.

Kiersey Clemons recently described her Justice League scenes as “*****ing sick”, but fans may never get to see them. Sources tell Batman News that Clemons’ character Iris West has been cut from the movie.

Very disappointed in this if true.

Aren’t they in the scene with Barry and the slo-mo smashing window? Wouldn’t it mean that’s gone?

Ughhhh...if true, we better get that extended cut on blu ray with this stuff put back in.

Yeah. That was one of my favourite moments from the trailer. I really hope Batman News is wrong about this.

thats cool with me. Always preferred they go the more traditional route by doing solo movies to intro side characters, JL might feel more cluttered if they kept certain characters in that we haven't seen yet.

I kind of disagree, I always liked the idea of this being a true merging of worlds of each character and getting a piece of each characters' universe. One of the things that I actually really liked about Marvel's The Defenders was that it wasn't just the main characters crossing over, it was their supporting cast too, and to me, it felt like a true crossover in that sense. Thats what I was liking about JL too, we seem to be getting a taste of each character's world and supporting cast thus Commisioner Gordon in Gotham, Mera and Vulko in Atlantis, the amazons in Themyscyra, Lois in Metropolis etc.

But whatevs, its not a huge deal.

I would be really disappointed in that cut, if it's true. And, unlike Lex, I don't see why it would be necessary.

I know that a lot of people were excited for her character because it was another woman in a very male-heavy movie, she was a person of color that added some diversity, and she added some texture and a tease of Barry's world. It seems to me more is lost than is gained by cutting her.

I meant it as they shouldn't be introducing main characters in team up movies. I would have much rather built a relationship with Ezra's flash and Momoa's Aquaman before they teamed up with the others. I'm just not feeling that same excitement.

Not to say that I'm not looking forward to it, because I am. Its just not as exciting as it should feel.

No way WB are that thick to meddle and ruin yet another movie.

I think its less WB and more the people that have been put in charge of the film's editing process.

I'll trust Batman-News for now, they've been pretty reliable for the most part.

I'm of the mind that I'll trust Whedon to cut whats necessary so the film flows. But theres cool **** like a Batman vs Deathstroke fight that got cut then they better release the damn thing on blu ray. Nothing hurts more than when you hear about these cool things that get cut from films and just stay on editing room floor forever. I bet you anything David Ayer filmed a full dialogue therapy session scene between Harley and Joker and we'll never see it.

its sad if true, no darkseid, no green lantern, go back snyder whedon is destroyng the movie.

I'm still totally confused about the deathstroke stuff

was he there to shoot stuff for JL or what? Clearly they weren't doing anything for The Batman that early out.

Maybe he was there for a screentest, maybe he was there for a cameo to set up the Batman movie.

No way WB are that thick to meddle and ruin yet another movie.

Lets hope so. And even if all this turns out to be true, I hope to see an extended cut on blu ray.

I doubt Whedon has anything to do with that. GL isn't there because WB are foolish cowards and Darkseid isn't there because they changed JL from being a two-parter to a standalone piece. Joss is there only to finish the movie like they said.

I think they're just trying to keep things simple/safe at this point.

we all know WB gets cold feet when something in a previous film doesn't quite work out. I'm ok if they don't set up future movies with this. If they find a good way to do so, they should. But its not vital that they do that.

Deathstroke was rumored to be in JL to set up his role in The Batman at the time Affleck was still charge of that project. Since plans have changed for that movie, it would make zero sense to keep him in. That's why I'm also thinking Lex's scenes were cut. If all of Lex and Deathstroke's scenes were just setup for a movie that's not happening now, it makes sense they get cut out.
