Wierd choice but not bad either. I'm on the fence and of course this is only a rumor not to be mistaken for anything confirmed.

I wouldn't be too excited about Bacon as Sinister. Don't get me wrong, he's a very good actor and I think he would be excellent as some *****ey government official giving mutants grief, however I just don't see him as Sinister.

Hasn't been confirmed but Bacon is a good actor and has played a ton of different characters over the years. I think he fit Sinister more then any main other Xvillian. That;s my opinion. Although with Emma on board he could be Shaw. Now while both Sinister and Shaw seem obvious someone pointed out the Shadow King. Although I think it's a long shot but the Shadow King is the reason that Prof X formed the xmen in the first place.

I'm tired of human villains. Bring on Sinister.

I am anxious to see what role Bacon does play. I hope to see Mr. Sinister and could set up later films with Apocalypse.

I love it! Let's finally see Mr Sinister on the big screen! Do him right!!!

I'd prefer Shaw and the Hellfire Club t be the bad guys but anytime you have Kevin Bacon in a film that isn't a bad thing. He'll be very good, as always.

what if he's playing someone like, Graydon Creed, leading The Friends Of Humanity...?

As soon as I saw his name, I thought Sinister. He probably won't play him, but like Kelsey Grammer getting cast as Beast, it's one of those perfect roles that you never realize until somebody already suggested it.

He doesn't really seem like the best fit for Sinister, but if they do go down that route with him, it may make for some really interesting dynamic for the character's adaptation..

Wouldn't that be redundant, considering William Stryker was the villain in the second film?

No, why would it be? The X-Men are known for having human and mutant villians, Stryker was the only human villian introduced and he was threat to mutant life...I'm thinking it has to be a human element that causes Xavier and Eric to split and why Eric believes humans must be eradicated in X1...

so I strongly don't believe Bacon is a mutant, but you never know, but I'm thinking we may get a Sentinel storyline (since we haven't yet) and the key players where Trask, Gen. Lang, and Sebastion Shaw, so he could be one of these men....

Giant sized "man" hunting robots probably imprisoning or killing mutants and Xavier still believes mutants and humans can co-exist could cause a rift 'tween Eric and him

I think people are jumping the gun to say he's playing Sinister.

He may not be.

Somehow, a human villain seems the more obvious reason for Magneto and Xavier to part ways, with Xavier believing not all humans are evil and wanting to give them a chance, while Magneto becomes embittered against humanity.

The search for locations resembling South America suggests a nasty Nazi.

Of course, Sinister could figure as a scientist working for the Nazis but he's hardly going to be anything like his comic book version.

I'm not crazy about Bacon, but if the villain comes off as well as McKellen's Magneto and Cox's Stryker, I'll be happy.

Not really. Plenty of mutants that I am sure have their own agendas that are threats to both humans and mutants alike. Magneto/Xavier need to team against a mutant villain for a change. I like Hellfire club here, but Sinister would be just as good.

I hope he is Sinister, this is one of the most exciting casting additions for me.

I also hope Alice Eve's White Queen is from the Hellfire Club and a villain.

Well, I'm a big fan of Kevin Bacon. Not sure I'd want to see him as Mr. Sinister but...who knows. It could be an inspired choice for all we know.

As much as I would like to see both Sinister and Bacon, I figrue Keven is much too expensive for this film, yes? I have doubts about this being true.....

Not so sure about that Squeeks. It's not like they have to divide the budget between several heavy hitters all in one cast ya know? In X3, Halle and Hugh took up at least $30million. lol We don't seem to have any real A-listers here so far. These young actors are getting $2-5 million each tops--with my bet on the lower end of $2 million or below.

There might be enough acumen to do a Kevin Bacon.

I hope you're right, because Kevin is one of my favorite actors. :D

Well, all of the young kids cast already probably aren't getting anymore than 500k.

should sinister have an english accent or does it vanish after his transformation?

I dont think Kevin is going to be Mr.Sinister... But i do think he will play a villian of same importance. I feel "The High Evolutionary" would make more sense at this point. I originally said that Gary Oldmen would make a brilliant High Evolutionary, he has that creepy nature that would make you think if magneto had someone inspire him it would be someone like Gary Oldemen as High Evolutionary. But then i also though of younger actors to play that role and i still came up with actors who looked similar, Eric Mabius was one and Kevin Bacon was the other....
