Something tells me this is going to be Super Bad! :p Though it just might make a mint. :whatever:

they didnt waste anytime on this one.

Is there any chance you guys at Marvel could aim those creative juices towards the movies fans have been craving since Christopher Reeve donned a cape.

It won't be a huge draw but I'm sure it'll at least make it's investment back. No idea why with all of the titles in development they'd choose to fast track this one.

This isn't a Marvel corporate project; it's Millar's creator-owned property, so this isn't something they're involved in.

Also, given the small cost (there are basically no special effects; that's the whole point of the story), it stands to reason it should be easy to make.

definitely overlooked that

i been thinking Michael Cera wouldn't be a bad choice either plays that sympathetic nerd really well and he also has juno under his belt as well as super bad

Can't quite picture Cera or McLovin as a "superhero".

This is also going to be (hopefully) an action movie, and I just can't picture those two.

Max Theriot is a way better choice.

Eh, it will be less of an action movie and more of a "loser in a wetsuit" movie. Cera would be perfect, but I imagine he'll be busy with Scott Pilgrim.

Read the article guys. McLovin is not in talks for Kick Ass but a character called Red Mist.

I haven't had the chance to read the comic, but I love the story and I think a film adaptation can really work.

Yeah, saw it know. Relieved as hell.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse is in negotiations, while Chloe Moretz has been cast in the film, whose violent nature has forced Hollywood studios to pass on making it. Vaughn, however, is such a believer in the project that he raised the money for the $30 million indie project himself.

The comic is ultraviolent, with kids taking on adults of all stripes. Moretz's character, for example, is a ferocious, potty-mouthed 11-year-old who chops down crime thugs with a ninja sword. Mintz-Plasse will play the Red Mist, the angry teen son of a mobster who tries to uncover Kick-Ass' identity.

I actually didn't read who Moretz would play. Wow, that'll be a character I can't wait to see.

Smh on the movie news containing spoilers that havent been published in the book yet.

Nonetheless kudos to Vaughn for sticking to his guns and going for the R rating.

Eh, I could be wrong, but McLovin' was TOO nerdy for this part. I want someone inbetween a dork and semi-popular. If you go all out and pick a nerd, it's just going to be another cliche attempt to put more comic characters on screen.

They should find an unknown who looks more like the "outsider'' type. Someone in the middle, not full geek, not full popular either.

should cast Max Theriot(Jumper) as Dave Lizewski

My blog group over at www.breakthefourthwall.com talked to Mark Millar and he said in an audio interview that Dave has been cast since last week and is a "unknown in America"

And that filming begins 3 weeks from now in London

Check it out for your self at the link, he talks a little bit more about it.

Great.

I'm anxious to know who'll be Dave Lezewski.

...have they even introduced Red Mist in the comics yet? i only have the first two issue (or is it three), so unless they introduced another ish and i havent seen it yet they havent even introduced the character that McLovin' is playing yet. and the little girl was only at the very end of the most recent issue.

I live by where they are filming (in my city) I can see if I can take some pics for you guys!

So Aaron Johnson is the main character. His had a few decent small movie roles having been a young charlie chaplin in Shanghi Knights and a young version of Edward Nortons character in The Illusionist.

Is there any british actor who hasn't appeared in the Bill or Casualty?
